Spider-Man was a huge success as a comic series & movie. But as a game, that's a different story. It seems like Webhead is up to his web in this game. The graphics are good, but I want to scope the city streets. People will like part 2 WAY better. The controls are good too, but the lock-on camera is annoying. I can see what I'm about to run into. It's way cooler playing as the Green Goblin. Spidey is a sissy.

I dont knwo about anyone else but I had some problems with this game. First the controls weren't smooth and it made it difficult to attack enemies or stop objects. Second there is not free reign to move around... the story/game was very linier. I expected more.

one time around, this game is alright. overall, this game blows big, juicy.....chicken tenders. its not fun to me. the bosses aren't that challenging, the mini-games are lame, and the fighting isn't "in depth." i know spider-Man 2 will kick @$$ and i'll buy it, but the 1st spider-man just isn't ready for the super-hero business.
This game is cool

This game has pretty nice graphics but their not top of the line graphics that would blow u away. The game play is not very much of a hassal to beat but the commentaries and little skits that require good graphics are really great. The cheats aren't really obviouse but they are worth the time to look them up and cheat the old fassion way. Me myself I thought the game was great and I would reccomend this game to others for a great game to buy. -LordNikkon69

This is a great looking game, hardest thing to get use to is swinging around on the web, once youve got that licked, TEAR IT UP! Overall this game is amazing, very well done. A very interesting Tutorial for the beginner that is quite humorous. Nothing better out there to make you feal like your the man himself
Spider-Man could have done better

The swinging around was fun but it was over way too fast. My 9 yr old cousin beat it before me...If there were ten more levels and a little bit of a challenge it could have been good. Controls-like a new language, once you've got it down you never forget Graphics-Sweet most of the time, but Green goblin was a let down Sound-I wasn't paying attention Best Part-Swinging around Worst Part- The Final Battle, a complete failure

Usually, videogames based on a soon-to-be-released movie end up disappointing most of the franchise's fans. Games that have done no justice to their flick counterparts range from Total Recall to Toy Story 2. However, it gets even more confusing and challenging when making a videogame out of a movie based on a popular comic book. Well, fear not Webheads, for the combined efforts of Treyarch and Activision have made it possible to make a great gaming experience out of your friendly-neighborhood Spider-Man. Playing as Spidey should come as no surprise for those with past experience with the two previous Activision games. The controls are pretty much the same, with minor changes to its basics, and a few new abilities to help you on your quest for justice. The most exciting addition to the controls is the aerial combat system. With the incorporation of villains like the Vulture and the Green Goblin, Spider- Man will now have to rely on constant web swinging and heavy aerial attacks. You can even jump on the Goblin's Glider and pound the menace a few times before he throws you off. The Amazing Spider-Man swings onto the Playstation 2 with improved graphics, extended features, and the same old gameplay that we've all learned to embrace thanks to Neversoft's PS1 title. The story is movie oriented, and the game is rewarding in the areas that matter. This is a definite must-buy for Spidey fans, and action-adventure fanatics alike.

Care for a game of Spider man Spideys got a ps2 makeover and he never looked better.the graphics are pretty good but if you think thatthe frame rate broblem has been fixed your wrong.Ofcourse if you are not a hardcore gamer you would not mind ,you`d be to busy enjoying yourself as you web-swing,wallcrawl and beat up thugs to be bothered by the slight slow down. This is the best spider-man game money can buy,and except for the ending its pretty darn cool, and I beleive that the end clip can be witnessed on the DVD version of the game(I am not sure of this though. All in all this game was supporb as you can perform combos and do more tricks.
