Good game

First WCW and WWF, now Nintendo and Sega.... what next? Yes, Sonic makes his first appearance on the Gamecube in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, a solid title that is basically a revamped version of SA2 for DC with the addition of a bunch of mini-games. Without a doubt, the story mode is the bright spot of this game. You can go through the same story from the hero side or the villian side controlling three different types of characters whose unique abilities allow you to accomplish different tasks in certain levels. The level design is very unique and the story mode is worth playing through not only because of the enjoyment but because progression in the story mode unlocks different mini-games.

The mini-games lack depth (I was especially disappointed by the Kart Races) but the sheer variety of games offer up a few hours of multiplayer enjoyment. The graphics are good and so is the sound, but the downfall of this title is the horrendous camera angles. At times, you can see everything except what you need to see, such as an oncoming enemy or fiery pit of death. This severely detracts from the story mode, but it probably the only thing wrong with the game. Overall, I suggest renting SA2 Battle first, but chances are you'll either rent it again or buy it.

A Must Have, If You Own A Gamecube and like Sonic

Before you even read this review ask yourself this question, has there ever been a horrible Sonic game? Of course not. Alright before iI begin the real review of this game I'd like to point out to you people that the only thing different from the Dreamcast is that in the Gamecube ther's more two player modes and slightly better graphics. Other than that there's no reason why you shouldn't have this game in your collection. Want to know why? Well it's simple first the graphics are great(more detailed textures in this version). Even though they don't really showcase groundbreaking graphics like Rouge Squadron and Super Smash Brothers Melee, the graphics still get a rating of 5.0 The sound is basicially based on your own opinion here. Some of the voices of the characters like Rouge and Tails sould have sounded better. Plus you'll here lines like "I'm the ultimate hedgehog" and "I have to save the world". To add to the problem the music in the background that play during the cut scenes are louder than the voices of the characters so chances are there'll be time where you'll have to read the subtitles below instead. The music that actually plays during the story, multiplayer, racing modes etc. are good some sound awesome and can get stuck in your head, the sound gets a 4.5. Everyone who has played Sonic Adventure one or two will know that there are the ocasional camera problems. But that is just one minor set back for some, others will get ticked off at it. The actual controls of manuvering the characters are simple two button commands. The control get a 4.0. Overall this game is a very good addition to your collection of Gamecube games. Although the multiplayer won't last long in the interest of older gamers, one player mode will definently. This game easily gets a fun factor of 5.0. Go start collecting those rings!

this game is full of action and adventure

sonic is no doubt one of my favorite games on th sega gensis. now on the game cube this game looks amazing, the graphics were really good and there was no sighn of frame rate slowdown, but the damn camera angles were terrible. the sound was awsome, except for some of the music and voice acting which was really stupid. but the sound was great.the value is really good because SA2B has 2 games in 1, you can play the good side with SONIC,TAILS,KNUCKLES. or you can play the dark side ithe DR.EGGMAN,SHADOW,ROUGE. each side of the game has there own sory and variety of levels. aside from the the main game you can go to this place which is called chao garden, basiclly this place lets you hatch and take care of these little cute creatures that you can enter them in races and karate fights. then if you have a gameboy advance and the sonic advance you can link up the 2 games and raise them on the gamenoy advance and play other mini games. the multiplayer has got a lot of extras then the dreamcast version, like new characters that wern't in the game you can unlock and play them in multi player mode. if you were a fan of the old and new sonic games pick this game up its well worth the maoney.

this game is good but i whether spend 20.00 dollars on DC version

i love this game but it's much easier to spend 20.00 dollars for the dreamcast version the same graphics and story just new two player mode that's it if you own a dreamcast just go to the store and spend 20.00 instead of 50.00

I have to admit, most of the sonic games suck, but this one looks different. It has it all multiplayer, good graphics, everything. One things for when this game comes out I'm getting it, and thats the bottom line

Change for Sonic

I have been a Sonic fan ever since he came out in 1991 on sega gensis. Now in 2002 he's on gamecube with Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Oh sure the game may have the same graphics as the original sonic adv.2 for draemcast, but what makes the game better than the first is the 2player mode. The 2p mode has new characters and more levels to challenge your friends at.the basic 1player mode is still same as the dreamcast version encluding the crappy camera angles. They don't upset me much, but it could mess with you. It's still a great game though so go buy it if they don't have surper smash bros. cause I know everone gonna want that!!
