This game while good, doesn't really have much that makes it spectacular. If you want a Star Wars themed RTS, then this is a good start. It will play like A.o.E., so it won't take long to get going. Naturally there are Hero units. The building of fighter craft, Naval vessels and Jedi/Sith units are basically what makes this stand out from some RTS games. Anyway the gameplay is solid and the game story works within the confines of the Star Wars universe. Plus providing some background stories for movies 4, 5 and 6.

Unfortunately, this game(like most) suffers from the inevitable repetitiveness and boredom that occurs from playing it for too long. The Map editor or Scenario editor, is a great way to breathe life into the game if you've gotten bored with it. There are cheats that can make it a bit more interesting as well. It has just about everything there to use. Considering all the units and characters available, experiment with it. The official online service for this game no longer exists to my knowledge.

Basically, it is Age of Empires 2 with a Star Wars coating. Simply put, and it isn't for everyone though.

I love Age of Empires and i love Star Wars so this game works for me. It's almost exctly like AoE but a thousand times better. You must have the Clone Campeigns expansion to make it better though. It's fun on-line an single player. 10$ at Wal-Mart.....GO BUY IT.

If you like building fortresses and conquering the galaxy then you will need to have this game in your library. It has one of the most wide ranged characters I have seen in a game. I've had this game for a while and still find myself amazed at how much fun it is to play. To me it is well worth spending the money for it. If you liked Kindoms, then you will love this one. THX

When i first got this game i thought "oh boy another star wars game" But, once i started playing it i found that it was not that much different than age of empires. The strenghts and weaknesses of the different civilizations make it a different game every time you play, whether it be a campaign or a standard game.

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds is a game that even non Star Wars fans will enjoy. There are plenty of game modes that will keep anybody glued to their computers for many hours. You can play as one of six civilations that range from Wookies to the Gungans. The Campaign's will take you through advenentures that go through the Star Wars Trilogy. If that doesn't satisfy you, you can build your own civilation and lead your civilation to victory over the enemies. You can build your own army which you can attack or defend your colony. Each civilation has its own strengths and weaknesses within their armies. There are many different ways to attack such as by land, air, or sea. You can upgrade your armies and defenses to make them stronger. Other game modes range from Death Match to Commander Of The Base. The graphics add a nice touch to the game also. It is also easy to navigate kudos to the Age of Empires engine. With so many game modes, options, and the debth of the game, Star Wars: GB should be in your collection.

I think this game is great - like age of empires? Some say that there pretty much the same, but this game is way better because you got all the Star Wars units in it - This game won't be a waste of money if u decide to get it!!!
