I know the game is old by now, but I don't care. This game caused some old friends of mine to be told by the university to not come back the next year... Multiplayer in the dorms was insane. More so than Halo ever was. Epic battles raging on the ground, in the sky, and across the seas. We still like to boot it up every once and a while and get a little gaming going. As far as I am concerned, this was the best at what it did at the time. I have yet to find a game that can match the memories this gave me. The graphics fit the time, and it's hard to even complain about them when you are having so much fun. Nice selection of weapons, even though there wasn't any customization across classes. Then again, there wasn't too much of that happening at the time. While some will say there are better games now, I can't find one that brings a bigger smile to my face. Then again, I haven't tried Call of Duty 4 on my PS3 yet.....

Battlefield 1942 is a very unique ww2 game. There are no objectives there is no route you must follow it is just a straight up battle. You capture bases and get a certain amount of toops on a map the object: kill all the enemys reinforcements befor they do it to you. any vehicle is fair game you can even drive enemy vehicles as well. The thing that makes this game great is the teamwork aspect. There a troop types and no one tpye can dominate alone alrillerry need snipers, snipers need machine gunners, machine gunners need engineers, and engineers need medics. Just incase you outmaster the computers you should try the online mode where you can play with people from around the world. You need excellent hardware to play this game to the max, but still it is very fun. Att the max the GFX are outstanding. THIS IS THE FIRST WWII GAME TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF YOU AGAINST THE WHOLE FREAKING GERMAN ARMY AND LIKE TAKING A 1000000000 HITS FROM FIRE BEFORE YOU KEEL OVER AND DIE. This game is realistic and fun to play single player with AI companions, online people are trying to fight as one not as a team. You can have 63 AI on a map (you being the 64th player) IT's fun to play with ur freinds and AI. One thing I noticed is the Surplus of tanks, DICE and EA got a lil tank happy.

this game was so terrible that i dont know where to begin, the sad thing is that millions of people loved it! i bought this game after one of my friends told me about it, so i got it, played a game (which was about twenty minutes) and uninstalled it from my computer. the graphics werent anywhere as good as anyone had led me to believe. No one would work together, everyone tried to go out commando and eventually got blown away by one of the few people who had a tank. My team won, despite, because the other team, suprise, suprise, was the same way.

Planes,Tanks,Boats,Artillery,AAGuns,MG42's,APC's almost all the weapons/vehicles of WW2. you can play as a medic engineer scout you name it scanning western europe, eastern europe, the south pacific and north africa where u take place in WW2's biggest battles omaha , stalingrad,algiers, el alamo , battle of the bulge , iwo jima, + much much more u get to play as an american russian british and German yes thats right i said it German soilder! although the AI sucks the game makes up for it. join the battle online, in 4 game modes TDM, CTF Conquest and Co-op yes co-op does this game get better? BUT WATCH OUT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A 128 MB VCARD THIS WILL LAG LIKE HELL, w/ up to 400 on 400 soilders vs soilders ( respawn aswell ) you cant miss this from dog fights to action packed navy wars to tank anti tanks land mines and shore patroles this is 1 advenure that you cant miss Grapchics 4.5 pretty good but when stuff blows up it just turns black Sound 4.0 pretty good again but some stuff just sound cheap and for 400 vs 400 you really dont hear those guns cracking Controlle 3.5 its fine but u have to select some thing different for driving, flying, dribing boats, and walking Fun Factor 5.0 if u like WW2 Games or FPS's or Vehicle games this is for you

Got it and its awesome. I love the single player its so fun just to ride around in the jeep and fly an airplane!!! The multiplayer isnt that good but i am rating the game not multiplayer so it gets a 5 out of 5!

this game is great if you like first person shooting games and are good at it this is your game. when you play champain its easy at first but it gets harder by level.BUT ITS A GREAT GAME!!!

Ok, this is pretty bad. The single player is horrible with bad AI and weird faces. The multi is ok, but you'll get bomb by planes and won't get to move. After the 40th time you get killed 'cause your plane blows up you start to wander why it nevers nosie-dive's but just blows up. The diffent things you can do helps but it stills feels half-done. Overall only get it if you need to have EVER WW2 game.

This is the only game out there where you can walk around a battlefield and have a huge variety of vehicles. You can get your gauntlets on anything from artillery to bombers. My god this game is awesome. You spawn as a infantry and can roam the battlefield for a vehicle if you choose (as seen in Halo). You start out by choosing your alliance, alies or axis, and then your character class (assualt, medic, engineer, anti-tank, or sout) and then your spawn point. Ariel assualt is awesome, if you are in a bomber you'll probably have five other guys in there manning the guns. This game is so hard to put into words. It's just so awesome, I can't explain it. The only weak part of the game is the campaign mode, though that doesn't really matter since you'll probably spend most of your time with online battles. All in all this is definatley the game of the year.

One excellent game. Easy and customizible controls make it even better.The graphics are excellent, which proves how many polygons are put into thousands of different characteristics of the game. The sound is also the best.The multiplayer is also excellent,but has little lag wherever you go. This game is worthy of the 5.
