This was a great game for those who like the adventure genre. it's definitely different from the other star fox games, though. The biggest difference would be the departure from flying to walking; very little time is spent in Fox's ship. It's used mainly as a transportation device rather than an integral part of the gameplay. However, this doesn't detract very much from the overall impact of the game. the storyline is interesting, if a little lacking at times, and the worlds are really visually appealing. the music is pretty good, too, just a little soft lol. Fox's weapons were for me one of the better parts of this game, and the laser upgrades and shops were a really cool element. If you're looking for the familiar star fox game, or something like star fox 64, you won't find it here. But if you want fleshed out characterization, a good story, and fun gameplay, this is a very good option.
All style, no substance

Now the first thing that i have to say about this game is that the graphics are amazing. This game looks as good as games like Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime, yet the gamplay is a lot like a old school platformer, which is it's biggest downfall. The gameplay just isn't fun. And the sound is forgettable. Only buy if you're desperate for GC games.
Fox, what have they done to you?

Last time we saw Fox McCloud, he was blasting away waves of baddies in his rail-shooter quest to save the galaxy. Now he's become Link. That's not a good thing, either. For a series that has been defined by action for years, there's surprisingly little of it here. It's mostly puzzle-solving, which may not be bad in most cases, but here, it's a major letdown. A habitual button-masher will be able to beat most enemies on the ground in no time, and the flight sequences are just too short, too few, and not fun enough. They might as well have put Link and Zelda in this one. At least there, the formula works. Here, not even the introduction of a female love interest (who may be hot to our hero, but to all but the more...dedicated fanboys is not) can save this one from a crash-landing.

I'm having trouble with Star Fox Adventures. When I get to the level of finding the 3rd Krazoa Spirit I have to pass the test of fear and I have to tap the (A) botton really fast but on the second time it gets hard. Do you have a cheat for that level?
Over the river, through the woods, plenty of dinos.

Rareware is so very good at what they do, it pains me to think why Nintendo didn't think to keep them in its fold. I mean, where would the N64 have been without Goldeneye? Of course, the real question is, where would the Gamecube be without Star Fox Adventures? The answer is obvious: not much worse, but not a whole lot better. This game is not your father's (or older brother's; it's not that old) Star Fox. This time, Fox goes ground-based for a game full of puzzle-solving, backtracking, and overall, headache-inducing gameplay. Now, for those people who play nonstop Fable, eat Ramen noodles and sleep in basements, this is a good thing. For those weaned on Star Fox and Star Fox 64, it is not. What action there is ends way too quickly, as battles are decided mostly on how fast you can press A. (Boss battles are harder, but not by much.) The Arwing stages in between missions are also short-lived, straight shot affairs that barely test your skills. The game is simply jetting (well, walking) from one place to another, using whatever brainpower you can muster (most of it has gone to sleep after the first five minutes) to solve your way to victory. There are perks, though. Graphically, this game is a work of art. The characters, animals and reptiles alike, are rendered beautifully (the fur on our hero, Fox McCloud, is a nice touch). The different worlds are graphical paradises of snow and sand alike, complemented by a beautiful musical score. Sadly, for the most part, the voice acting and script falls short. The actor playing Fox is passable, but he is one of the few that is. And with a story like this, you need good people to tell it. This isn't a bad game; it's like fooling your mind into exercise by telling it to just sit back and watch. But it's not Star Fox as we know it. And that's the only Star Fox worth knowing.
ACTUALLY A PRETTY GOOD GAME

Although I'm a big fan of flying around blowing things up in your Airwing, I liked the fact that they mixed it up with a lot of land based action. It brought something different to the series. Fighting Dinosaurs with a magic staff and solving puzzles was enjoyable and not boring. Plus the colorful graphics were pleasing to the eyes. Same basic story as previous games so they need to add something new to the sequel.

Star Fox by far is one of the worst games of all time. The story isn't really well explained at the beginging of the game and it's quite boring. If it was to stick to it's original gameplay like the games before it, it probably would've been better.
greatest game for rare after DK2

Let's face it,everyone who's played Starfox for the N64 loved it.Why? Because you got to blow stuff up from your cockpit.Well, this new installment is totally diffrent.Throughout the game you spend about one twentieth of your time in the airship. Now the on-foot exploration is fine- but it just didn't blow me away. There are still great graphics and sound throughout the game, and the targeting is great, but Fox's new adventure is worth a rental at best.
