This game is awesome, the graphical upgrades for the third installment as well as the introduction of a new character, Christie is well worth the price. The game does not fail to deliver with it's full 3D and multi-layered levels. Players can compete against one another or follow the story line for an original fighting game. The counter system is difficult to master and allows for endless replay value. The story mode also feature stunning cut scenes after the game is completed with a character. This game is worth every penny and every hour spent playing it.
A graphical masterpiece, but there's more to DOA3 than that!

DOA3, is the sequel to DOA2, which was one of the PS2 launch titles, in fact DOA3 was a Xbox launch title. Before i start the review i would like to talk about the graphics, as they are some of the finest to be seen on the Xbox. The game runs at a smooth 60-frames per second, and never slows down. There's no clipping, the animation looks fantastic and the character models look brilliant, especially the women of DOA, yet even when characters take lots and lots of damage, there's nothing to show they've been hurt, there's no scratches, no blood, nothing to show these fighters have been ripping each other apart. Also the arenas look fantastic as well, with lot's of detail. The whole game has an anime feel to it, thanks to its look and sound to it. The character models have a anime feel to it, but what really gives DOA3 an anime feel is it's music. Apart from the out of place Aerosmith songs, the soundtrack mostly consists of techno songs. The voice acting is done in Japanese, which will appeal to anime fans, but may put off other gamers, who don't really want to read subtitles to know what the fighters say. The game is a graphical masterpiece, but there's great gameplay to back up those graphics. Like the previous games, you will need to counter quite a lot, as the A.I. is very smart, and you'll certainly feel at home if you're a fighting game expert. There's no Xbox live, as this was a launch title and Xbox live wasn't even invented when DOA3 was released, but there's plenty of modes, including Storymode, Tag Mode, and, of course, multiplayer, and the most fun you'll have is with the multiplayer. Unless your mate hates fighting games, you'll have fun in the multiplayer. In the end, DOA3 is one of the best Xbox launch titles.

Ok, so I saw it for $10 , and I thought I might aswell get it. The minute I played it it was great, the moves engine was fantastic, the graphics are beautiful , the gameplay is great. I cleared everyones story mode in a day, which anoyed me Cos when you clear a story mode you get a movie of the charater not an other charater, so you will be playing as the same charaters all the time but other than that its great. It also has an Aerosmith sound track... which is great!!! Graphics: 5.0 Sound: 5.0 Control: 4.5 This Is The Fighting Game For The Xbox...
not bad

The greatest fighting game engine of all time. Beautiful graphics, sweet controls, and gorgeous characters. Easy to learn, rewarding to master, and a marvel to behold. Unfortunately there is not much to unlock, and the story mode falls flat. As a multi-player game, it is unbeatable. Cheap button mashers need not apply, as those that take the time to learn counters and throws, will annihilate all those who oppose. As a fighting game, DOA 3 destroys all of the competition.
Best.(Fighting) game. ever.

Dead or Alive may be the ultimate fighting game ever! I know thats alot to say but it's true. The graphhics are great with authentic moves. Animation is top notch. The game plays wonderfully and totally sucks you in. The sound is great too but english voice overs should have been implimented. The controls all feel great and you always know what button too press. I have a controller s so the big controler could be a different story. Characters woth a thousand words This game has a killer llist of cool characters. My favorite characters would have to be Ryu Hayabusa and Ayane. The move list is cool and everthing blends and belongs like butter on bread. Every character is in this tournament called Dead or Alive. Each of them hopes to achieve something through a victory. But the boss Gerna wants everyone dead and Ayane is his daughter and he wants her dead too. Photographers abound The gaphics are awe inspiring and they rock so hard it makes the game way better. This is the game with the best graphics ever period. all the moves fit in and have smooth transintions. Even the grappels that suffer in other games looks great here. Sounds of glory The game sounds are very good with an aprpriate sound track. English voiceovers should have been implmented. The worl is a seamless masterpice and looks unbeleavable. It's been almost 3 years since this game came out and my jaw is still on the floor. The story is a bit wierd though. When you think about it though fighting games never have bee known for there story.
Best Fighter On X-box!....Meh!

GRAPHICS- 5.0...Every charcter has a unique look and is very detailed and polished...the backdrops look gorgeous as well as the neat-looking models...nothing strikes a bad note in the graphics category! SOUND- 3.5...Sound is varied in bad ways because of partial crappy and non-fitting music and weird sound effects...the chinese audio to the game is ( In my point of view ) uncool. The only satisfying part is the many audio and sound options! CONTROL- 2.5...Button mashing Galore!...After a short period of time..your hands ache!...The control system is surprisingly hard to get used to and some camera angles are satisfactory. Luckily, Custom Control Configuration is a part of the game! FUN FACTOR- 3.0...DOA 3 at first glance is a fantastic display of beauty and gameplay but after playing it for about 2 hours...it turns out to be just another basic fighter game...Only if your a DOA fan or a fighting fan...Get this game but the other gamers out there should rather be good with some other game!..Unless your an artist!..that's a different thing!
Simply put, the best fighting game on Xbox.

Dead or Alive 3 is a great (if one of the best) fighting game. Yes, there are those people who call DOA "nothing but button mashing", and say the fighting system has no depth. Those people should be executed. Graphics arent everything in a game, and to the suprise of many, this is not some stale graphical showcase of a fighter. The game is easy to get into, but hard to master. Counters and reversals are simple to pull of, which is great. It seems like every time you play this game, you discover a "new level" within the fighting system. If you own an Xbox and are a fighting game fan, this is the first game you should get.

Dead or Alive 3 is a top-of-the line, must buy fighting game, and I must say one of my favorites of the genre. The graphics are drop-dead gorgous and display what the X-BOX is capable of doing. Most importantly, though, the fighting system is great and it is really cool how interactive the areas you are fighting in are. Last but not least the female fighters are the most attractive yet. Buy it,you wont be sorry!
