A commercialized look at streetball

Ever wanted to try all those sweet moves that you see on those streetball shows on the likes of ESPN? Well now you can, in NBA Street. You can choose to run three on three with the best three off of any NBA team, create your own team with some generic ballers, or a combination of both. As you advance through the game, more items such as new courts, new kicks, and new codes are unlocked. You are able to perform tricks that will leave your opponent on the ground with two broken ankles while you rise over them for a nasty dunk. The control of the players is fairly straight forward and not complicated. To combine sick moves for mad points, however, becomes a little more challenging. But in no time, you will be alley-op 'n it off the glass for a monstrous dunk. The game offers the option of creating a play whose experience grows as you win. You decide what experience to increase, if you want a 6'6" three-ball master, or a 7'2" dunking giant. Once advancing past all the teams in the NBA in tournament mode, you begin to play the best of each decade. The 50's and 60's games are in black and white and don't have a three-point line. It is a very unique flashback that pays homage to all those stars that came before today's NBA headliners. It would be nice, though, if the game paid its respect to the streetball legends. It would also be nice if the opponent had a little AI. Most teams will offer little to no resistance. NBA Street offers a more commercialized look at streetball and is not really at the heart of the courts such as Rutgers. If you are looking for some fast-paced, high-flying action, this game will hold you over for a little while, but I suggest looking somewhere else. NBA Street does not offer the depth or game play to make this game worth while. Look past the high-flying antics and see that there is little to offer at the core of this game. If you want to experience this game, I suggest renting it. ~Kevin Nuest

while the graphics look a little dated, the gameplay is still fresh as ever. So, if you dont have the cash for a brand new NBA game, look no further than this unexpensive, yet suprisingly fun sports game.
No better than NFL Street but pretty cool

In NBA street you play a game of basketball as your favorite NBA Team where there are no rules. There are few positives like for one the tricks you can do while having the ball like the serving it up trick plus if it is a great idea to do tricks so you can add to your turbo and get a gamebreaker. Once you get your gamebreaker and make a shot you will you earn a point and the opposing team will lose a point. If you want to add players to your team then play career mode where you play with MJ (Except you play against him at the end) but there is a negative once your team gets full you end up firing some players and that is one negative for this game. Another negative for the game is the announcer is very annoying beleive me he is possibly the most annoying game character of all time. Graphics can definitely be a little more realistic. Bottomline is the game would be alot better if the announcer would be less annoying and you didn't have to fire some of your players but the gameplay is alright I guess.

the ea sports big team did it again i mean ssx was ok but NBA Street was better than that weak ass game if you know what i mean the only flaws with it are they need more street legends and NBA legends and more courts more tricks and more characters other than that the game is tight i give it a 8 out of 10

This is a good game, just take my word for it. The graphics are great, the controls are a piece of cake, the sound is pretty good although joe the show does get kind of annoying, and the fun factor is definitely a 5. The replay value is very high, esp with a friend.
Awsome Street Ball game

This is one sweet game. I haven't had this much fun playinying a B- Ball game since NBA Jam. The only set back is its to easy to bet the city curcit mode, but in a way that can come in handy.
This is what NBA Live 2002 should have been!

This game has everthing great about it, so, I am not going to say what is good, but what is bad. The championship mode ends to early, and after you beat it, you just don't wanna play again, unless you have friends. Almost to cartoony for some people. It totally violates all rules of basketball which some people may not like if they are looking for an authentic street ball game. Besides all these bad flaws, the game still kicks a lot of ass. Please play it people!
