This game is not that great but neither that bad. The graphics are ok. the sound is pretty good. The controls are not easy neither hard to learn. The replay value is in the middle., I say this might only be a renter game.

At first glance, Triple Play Baseball for the Playstation looks great! The graphics are very good for a Playstation game, the sound is pretty good, the controls are descent, and it has enough features to keep you playing for hours. But TPB has its set-backs. The announcers are not very good at all. They are repetitive, and not very smart. For instance if there is a pop fly that you catch deep in the outfield, one of them will say something like "That was a great play, that looked like a line drive going to the outfield" when it was in the outfield! Other than the announcers, the sound was pretty good. The controls I found descent, but not the best. I found it very hard to make a diving stop or catch. Also I even found it a little difficult to field a ground ball occasionally. Other than that, the controlls were descent. There were some other annoying things in Triple Play Baseball too. I could sit there and hit fould balls for about fifteen minutes straight! That became very old, very fast, and it happened way too often. Also, on the cover it says fully updated for 2001 season, well guess what, it's not! The rosters are not fully up-to-date. EA Sports should have waited a little longer and gotten the most up-to-date rosters possible. Don't get me wrong, unless you really know exactly who is on what team, you wouldn't really notice this error. The rosters were up-to-date as of January 1st 2001. Triple Play Baseball has lots of fun features like the Extreme Big League Challenge. I find myself playing it as much as a regular game of baseball. The one feature I wish it had though, was spring training. I would have really liked that. All in all, Triple Play Baseball for the Playstation is a really good game. It's not that much different from Triple Play 2001, so don't get it unless you buy all of the Triple Play games or you haven't bought one for a long time.
