devil may cry is a good game.i have it.graphics are 3-d and the controls are great.the only thing wrong with it is the length of the game.it's only about 20-21 missions/levels on there.all in all i give it a 4.75 because of how the creators came up with the story and how they had the messed up stuff happen to dante.
This game sucks Soooo much

Devil May Cry is the game that started off one of the greatest series in gaming history. The game is the sequel to Devil May Cry 3. The game is fun to play, and it has fun challenges. Being that the game was made in 2001, it might be hard to find it in a store. The one problem i had with the game was the inability to change the camera angle. Overall, it is a really good game. I really recommend that you play it. It is a great game that ages well.
Awsome

Allthough there are some glitches and flaws in the game its still an awsome kickass game. You play as a character named Dante son of the legendary sparda who turned on the devil and faught to protect the human world. When he died he had 2 sons one named dante and one named vergil. Vergil dissapeared but dante stayed behind and decided to take up devil hunting. If you need a dirty job done that involves demons hell do it. If its a job like getting a dog out of a tree well you know. The game starts in dantes pawn shop called devil may cry. A women named trish comes to dante to get him to a job.Of course he accepts. Now you will go on from here by walking along a path into a castle where the demon world is lurking. When you come in you have to get through the door and you will fight your first enemy a demon puppet.Clumsy but powerfull. After the first mission you are able to change into easy automatic mode where your guns shoot simotaniously. The game will be much easier and the enemies don't change at all they will just be hard but a little easy. From there on the game is quite action packed earning new weapons guns and a new ability which allows you to bring out the devil inside you. The game was good. good graphics could have been better and the glitches are prdictable but you get use to em. Overall an awsome game. You can buy in any video game store the Devil May Cry Special Edition. All 3 games including the Devil May Cry 3 special edition for $34.99
Simply put. . . . Great

This has to be one of the top game's out for the PS2. The story line is extreamly good, and is very original. And it just pull's you in making you want to learn more about Dante (setting up the multipul sequal's that are out now) and his past and future. The grafix are extreamly good but have aged a bit, I mean it is 5 year's old some rust is going to be somewhere. But the grafix are all that have faded but not even that much the game still look's very nice. And the story line is so good any graficall flaw's will quickly be overlooked. The audio in this game is great the audio fit's the game perfectly from the Sound FX, all the way to the OST. The controll's are damn near perfect and easy to learn and master making the game all that more enjoyable. I really can't say enough about the controll's between the controll's and the storyline anything grafically wise you will easily overlook. Overall this is one of the PS2's number one tittle's a must buy for anyone with a PS2 into the action genre. Or just with a love of video game's. If you havn't played DMC yet crawl out of the cave you been living in for the past 5 year's and go get it. And ENJOY.
What a breather

Good graphics, good character interaction with environment (as far as such a thing has been developed). The story line is involving. The only reason it got such a low score from me is because I don't like being couped up in a castle for so many hours, working up the levels can be somewhat of a pain and switching weapons should be done on the fly if you are dependant on them for vital moves, and you can't switch them like that in this game. Definately worth playing, however don't let nit- picky me stop you from buying this jewl. Other slight annoyances can be found, but not enough to ruin the game play, just enough for me to bump my score down .5
Hellish fun. Literally.

Capcom has struck gold with Devil May Cry. It is beatem up action with great variety, intense boss battles, and pure hellish fun. Dante can use swords or guns right on the fly without having to equip and re-equip weapons. The action is intense. You can pummel enemies with your sword, or just pump them full of lead with dual handguns. Dante's aresnal will grow over the course of the game, so you don't have to stick with the primary equipment. The graphics are quite good for a beginning PS2 game, and the heavy metal soundtrack is awesome, especially during boss fights. There are hidden missions and unlockables to discover to extend the game and keep the gameplay fresh. The action is ferociously intense and challenging in boss battles, which make the game ever the more fun. The only thing that brings this game down is the camera. It will change angles often when you move into another section on an area. This can be very annoying during boss fights. Sometimes you willl find yourself struggling to keep the boss in your sights. There is also little explanation of the story throughout the game, which makes you wonder who this mysterious character Dante truly is. Despite these small details, the game is one of the best PS2 titles there is. This game is very challenging, especially on the higher difficulties. If you describe yourself as a hardcore gamer, buy this game NOW! (Unless you have not already ;) Your PS2 collection is not complete without Devil May Cry.

This game is awesome. Enough said. It came out a few years ago and still I play it and find it a fun game. A classic Hack 'n' Slash that never gets old! Way to go Capcom! So, the overall storyline is easy to follow- a man w/ devil abilities is trying to find (literally) the devil that killed his mother, and brother. Easy huh? So a person comes around and tells him where his salvation lies. But that person turns out to have "powers" of her own, and she also just so happens to look like Dante's mother. The weapons in the game are brilliantly devised, the swords are wonderful, and throwing in a pair of Fiery Gauntlets into the mix was a well played move. The abilities tying into the weapons are wonderful. Although, if you're really picky, you find yourself constantly switching in between weapons...that's where some fail. Alone w/ the difficulty modes, you can play your own types of play-- like I play through the game w/ only Ifrit or Alastor, or Sparda, or even the force edge! Playability is a definate in this game. The sword moves you can do are well devised also. They are brilliantly smooth and fluid like blood flowing out of a Marionette. Boss battles are also good, and the last boss is especially good...you want to save that on another file so you can play it over and over and over again, it's so AWESOME!! So, in general, capcom....GOOD FUCIN JOB!!

WOW. what a awsome game, Devil May Cry has everything working for it; Great graphics and sound, easy controls, and most importantly addicting gameplay(think a mix between Castlevania and Resident Evil) that never gets old and and than theres Dante, he pratically defines "cool". If you have a PS2, this game needs to be on your must get list.
