this game got lost with all the ps2 rpgs flying around, but when you can't get your hands on FF,Dark cloud is a good choice you start off as Toan,a young boy who's villige has been destroyed by a dark genie you go thru dungens looking for floating capsuls that contain furniture, houses, and people from varios villiges once you get houses,it's time to play god, move stuff around, ask people were they want there house, then put em there, and get a reward as you build stuff you'll unlock new charecters, new wepons, and new shit to cosomize them with to get stronger, you have to kil hundreds of enemys, with 1 wepon, but even with a +100 Cronical Sword, you'll still find some enemys a pain in the ass
a long game

UGH! Boring as hell... no matter how hard I tried to like this game, I couldnt. It was boring and repetative with that dungeon that never ends. Possible the worst RPG-type game available.. an they made a sequel??? UGH!
There Could Be A Dark Cloud Over This Game

The opening movie is pretty interesting, and as you start building up cities from the ground up by retrieving building blocks from each dungeon, it seems addicting and very fun at first. I admit that I did have alot of fun in the first world, but after that, things turned from fun to boring. The act of going into the same dungeon over and over and over again with no difference at all is unintolerable. The monsters got old very fast. It became painful for me to even decide to play the game. When you are loading up a game and already feeling tired, you know that a game's bad. Everything I did in the game was repetitive from retrieving building blocks, switching characters to use their abilities, and going into the same dungeon after dungeon. It's ludicrous! Dark Cloud comes very close to a complete knock-off of Zelda, with the sounds and all. The reason I gave it a 3.0 was because of originality and the excitement I had in the beginning of the game. I had never before seen a game like this. Little did I know how terrible the game really was. If you plan on getting it, forget it. It's worth a rental just to see what the building and Zelda-knockoff is all about. I don't know how DC2, but I'd guess it's as monotonous as the first. Final word: Skip this rainshower and play Final Fantasy 7, if you haven't already.
Fun, but repetative

This game was very fun at first, but gets very repetative straight from the first dungeon. The only thing that kept this game going was the town development. Everything else was pretty bad... the dungeons, the weapon system, etc. Yet, it's still a fun game, some times addictive, but never-the-less, it gets a 3.5
...boring

game is one of the fruittiest games i have ever seen. the graphics are good, but thats about it. the game gets real tedious and reallly repedetive. level after level after level. Will it ever stop?the first dungeon has 17 floors. and then the dungeon boss has a lot of HP and is hard to hit. the switching characters thing gets really really annoying after about 10 minutes. the weapon HP and the water levels are really stupid too. its too much stuff to wory about when you're fighting.is my weapon gonna break, am i going to die of this, is the poison gonna kill me, is that fat -hole mayor ever going to give me more items, am i gonna have enough money to pay the old geezer, & how many monsters am i gonna have 2 kill to get the dern dungeon key? the fighting system is dumb to you go wha wha whoa and it just kinda slashes a lil'. if i wanted that id get a playstation game from 97' yes folks 97'.i would've given it a lower thing but 1's the lowest. word of advice sony: STICK TO MAKING MUSIC AND GAME SYSTEMS NOT ACTUAL GAMES!!!
Amazing for a game that only costs $20

This RPG is extremely addictive, and it is also a game that will keep u hooked so u can't put ur controller down. With so many things to do, this will have u going for atleast 6 months!! And however u do something u'll always want to figure out how to do this, that, or whatever. U can even build ur own city with the very cool Georama parts u find in the dungeons. Has great and cartoony graphics which adds a fun feel to it. It's easy, but not too easy. U'll still feel like u accomplished something great when u pass through a whole entire 5 floors. The battle system in this is very much like Zelda's but will still bring back huge memories from it. The engine for this game is very smooth, and the comics are well edited. The graphics will also have u gaping through the moon areas, and all of the places. This game is definitely a buy for any RPG fan. For ne1 else just try renting it and see how it goes

This game has all the basics of an RPG. But, there's nothing too it. You run around build up weapond, slash monsters (over and over) until your thumbs are blistered. Another thing is that the levels are all the same. Nothing changes. The walls and backround are all the same. There are two good points, though... the graphics in the cutscenes are awesome, and the customizing towns feature is cool, too. Great as a rental, nothing more.

well, truth be told, dark cloud is a pretty good game but there's no depth to it...i like how u are able to upgrade & customize the weapons, but thats about the best part of the game. The dungeons are so repititious and get very annoying...but whateva melts ya butta, its just not the game i can play for a while.
