Better than the Ps2 version (but should have had internet support)

Ever since I first played Half-Life I've been hooked on it. It's like the first person version of Resident Evil (Resident Evil Survivor should have taken lessons from this game). But what's up with the two person melee mode? They should have had four player support since the levels are way to big for two. Also, it wouldn't hurt to add internet support like Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3. However the improved graphics over the pc version more than make up for this. Who would have thought there would be more than one way to see someone body blow up in this game.

Half Life RULES!!!

Half Life is on the PS2 and it is awesome!!! It even comes with a two player game called Decay.I think Decay is just as good as the main game. The graphics to this game are pretty good but they could have been a little better. The storyline is just awesome. This is one of the best action games on the PS2!!!

No Blue-Shift? Oh, Decay is here instead. Fair enough.

When I bought this game, I expected to see Blue-Shift on it. But Decay probably more than makes up for that. And the original Half-Life is still a very good game. I know a good FPS when I see one, and this one is excelent. I see now why it won over 50 game of the yaer awards from various critics in 1998. Basically, if you have any interest in FPSs, get this game.

pretty good game

This game is pretty good, but not great. The graphics for this game i say are very well done. So 5.0 for the graphics. The sound for this game is pretty good except it did get annoying very quickly. So 4.0 for the sound. The controls for this game were comfortable and were responsive. So 4.5 for the control. There is only 1 problem with this game to many little load times. So i say rent this game first to see if you will like it. I mean i like, but it just isn't a game that i would want to own.

Not half bad

This game is almost as good as Red Faction. The storyline is pretty cool and really sucks you into the game. Controls are dead on and graphics very well done. Some of the levels are quite tough and others can get boring. Finishing this game was very satisfying but I'm not sure how much replay value there is. If you like FPS you should add this to your collection.

Excellent

I have Half-Life for the PC, so then I can tell the difference between console and PC versions and I have to be honest, this is exactly like the PC version and thats why I paid to buy 50.00 for Half- Life on Playstation 2 even when I have it on PC and beat it! Why? Because Half-Life is not only a friggin' good game! Its one of the dang best games along with Red Faction, Medal Of Honor Frontline, Halo, ect. So as in saying, there is nothin' wrong with this game a thats why I gave it a 5.0. Why is it good? Well, you will have to see for yourself! Rated MATURE by ESRB for HORROR VIOLENCE, AND GORE.

So Original, BUT SO GOOD !

When you look at this game first you start to think (man this game better be good).Well I got news for ya out there this game is just that DAMN good! I'm like damn this is 1 hell of-a-game. This has got to be the most ordinary storyline I've ever seen in a game. But thats not a bad thing yo. Word is life thats a good thing. It's about a scientist named Gordon Freeman who works for a Secert research facility called BLACK MESA. He's in the middle of an expieriment gone wrong. The entire facility has been invaded by alien life forms and he has to stop them. The marines have been brought in to take care of the problem but guess what. Theyre there to cover up the accident by wiping out anything in there way. Including you the scientist! So that means its a 1 man mission you have to make your way up to the surface where fellow scientits, and guards assist you on your mission. Im telling you man its just to addictive you'll be hooked. Aight 1 last thing if ya be luving them guns then this is the place to be. Im sure anyone would agree Half-Life has the greastest set of weapons than any game in history. So check it out this has definately redefined what a first-person shooter is. Theres so much to this game then what I put down Please BUY!! GRAPHICS: Very good, characters could of been designed more lifelike. SOUND: Very good, but I would of been gratefull for more in game music. CONTROL: Amazing, when you try em then youll know VERDICT: Truly Satisfying, Only some cut-scenes would've of done it for this raw game.

The Greatest FPS on the PS2!

If you've played the PC version of Half-Life you know how incredibly action packed this game is. On the PS2 it's even more so because of a graphical overhaul (4x the detail of the PC version). The game has one of the greatest stories ever for a FPS. Something goes horribly wrong and you suddenly find yourself fighting for your life against aliens with vivid detail and even the army. This game is long. It took me 20+ hours and that's just the single player game. Extra goodies have been thrown in like an awesome 2 player cooperative mode called Decay, and multiplayer deathmatches. The sound in this game is top notch, from the excellent voices to the gripping music. The sound is so good that certain parts of the game might acctually scare you (I hate those commandos giving out orders, it really is scarey...at least to me it is). The only gripe I have about this game are the control's. You use the two analog sticks for moving and facing the way you want to go, which is very tricky at first. Also, the auto lock-on feature is a little touchy. Thank God there's a custom configuration for all you control freaks. After a while though, you'll be plowing through aliens like no other. For these reasons and many more, Half-Life is and always will be the greatest FPS ever, not just on PS2 and PC but out of all the others ever made.

yes it is better than the PC version, better graphics sound and control, the only thing that was missing was 4-player deathmatch.
