Gets Old Real Quick

Dont get me wrong, this isnt a bad game, but it does get old. The game is somewhat repetitive in the missions and goals. Go around in your mech, fight the same evil mechs over and over, watch cut scenes, then do it all over again. The best feature is the MGS2 demo, althought that alone isnt worth 49.99. I reccomend that you rent this game first.

Look past the MGS demo

Like most of you did, I bought ZOE mainly for the MGS demo. However, I am also a mech fan (owning Virtual On for DC, and Armored Core 2 for PS2). What I found most disappointing in this game is the repetition in the fighting. An expanded combo system or a learning system in which new moves are learned and perfected as the game progresses would have been a nice addition. The added weapons although useful during certain sequences, I found to be unimpressive graphically. I expect spectacular special effects when it comes to mech fighting. And some of the guessing games when it comes to missions (this can be extremely frustrating) needs to be eliminated. I don't need to be completely walked through the game holding hands with the creator, but a few GOOD clues to decipher would be appreciated. Overall cool, but leaves me feeling like Konami pulled the wool over my eyes. An average game clouded by a spectacular demo of MGS, and all yours for the low low price of 49.99, that's less than 50.00 folks, it can't get any better than that. And If you act now, we'll throw in this generous supply of KY for that gentle, sensitive gamer-been-had experience.

Cool in the beginning

So here's my beef with the game. When I first started playing the game it was awesome to me. But 2 days later I beat the frickin game. After that I got bored with it. Played it 3rd time through recently and now I'm flat out sick of it. I couldnt stand music that was pure hell to me and the sound was alright not great though. The game really left me hangin the games over before you know it, those of you who played it know what I'm talkin about. I really suggest that you rent it before you buy it cuz I've tossed it aside to a fate of dust collecting. Conclusion fun at first boring in the end thats why it got a 3.5 rating

varietiless of enders

Zoe is a good game but it suffers from 2 things, short story mode and lack of variety. The games story is weak and I myself beat the game in 2 1/2 hours. The games graphics are good but prepare to see the same ol explosions (maybe a few cool boss explosions), since there are only 3 types of enemy frames the game dumps them on you in annoying numbers. The boss levels are cool in ways. Also the game can be tiring gathering programs to unlock this energy sheild or this lock, in other words there is a lot of back tracking. Also The 2 player mode is cool and the battles get heated, you can even play 2 player by yourself by selecting a frame for the computer to use and you can adjust its skill level. I didnt review the MGS 2 demo becuase this review is about Z..... Ah shut up, the demo ROCKS, yeah!

A Work of Art

This is one of the best no only mech fighting games but all around games of all time. A must for any PS2 owner. One of the key features is the controls. This is one of those awesome games where you can just pick it up and learn to play instantly. a truely impressive work of art but you can only know it would be considering it was made by Hideo Hojima: creator of the renowned Metal Gear series and it even comes with a demo for MGS2. very cool. The sound is very nicely done to, it is not annoying or anything. From the explosions to the Jehuty's voice, the sound is a work of art. Other than that the graphics are outstanding and very nice. The mech designs are just masterpieces. The fun factor deserves a 5.0 due to these reasons and I suggest any PS2 owner has to at least try this game.
