In short I love this game. This game has completly erased the Resident Evil franchise from my mind. I might be the only person who thinks that code veronica was horrible but hey, life just got better with Silent Hill 2. I love those wacky creatures that scare the hell out of me. This game from start to finish(only one ending down so far) this game sends chills down my spine. The sound effects are the best in any game so far and the graphics are the best so far in any game. This is a must have for anyone who enjoys gaming. The game might be a little short but the endings will keep you going back.

First off, the sounds are maddening but not in the sense of bad quality. Every sound will make you shiver in fear. From the devilish sounds of the monsters in the background to the dank music style. On the other hand is the graphics. The graphics may look dank, dark and sludgy but the ps2 does a fine job on making them look that way. The lighting effect is astounding in that aspect especially the way the flash light cast shadows on objects and monsters. The fog is great looking but it is a bit much quantity. The camera also adds to the horror and sometimes its not in the good sense. Finally the controls which to say is not perfect. They are sluggish and really do cost you in battle sometimes but it can be gotten use to. All in all, if you want to have nightmares in your sleep, this game will give you something to think about.

This game is scary as hell, and that's putting it nicely. Konami should be proud, as I damn near soiled myself. Jesus!, I really don't know where to start, if you want to get scared out of your wits. Then expirience this game, it's better then any movie I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of movies.

Fun Factor is right on! As uneasy as sh2 made me feel, i was unable to put it down. It is as if i were looking a horrable car crash.I had to sleep with the lights on. Nuff' said!

Silent Hill 2 has managed to break the standards associated with horror/action games. Everything about this game is incredible, and easily makes the resident evil series seem tame in comparison. The first thing that grabs your attention is the excellent graphics. While the overall dark appearance and gritty film effects don't exactly use a full box of crayons, The amount of detail is amazing. While exploring the apartment buildings,your flashlight gives eerie shadows.Dirty hallways and abandoned shopping carts seem real,and killer manaquins lie on the floor while their legs shimmer from the little amount of light your flashlight gives. I think the sound is fantastic. You'll hear some creepy monster slowly tracking you down while you frantically look for somewhere to hide. The sound effects really add to the atmosphere. Music is sparse,but the lack of it really helps to the whole vibe. Finally a game that gets the M rating and deserves it. Anyone who's looking for a disturbing psychological mind F$@! should check this out. The only problem I find, is the constant running down streets,which seems to take forever. There is also too much fog,and it makes it difficult to find items. I realize this effect is done for atmosphere,but they could have laid back just a little. Otherwise, this game is why I bought my PS2 in the first place!! Trenchie75

Silent Hill was without a doubt my favorite PS1 game around. All of the Resident Eveil series has nothing on it. I was at my local game store a t the mall 15 miniutes early and drooling like a rabid dog. I've only gotten to play Silet Hill 2 for about 4 hours but I can tell this is the best of the best. Better controls, better graphics and just damn creepy. I've read in other magaizines ther are onther horror game coming out but this game will reign supreme until there is a Silent Hill 3 coming out or something better (which I highly doubt!) I've waited for this game since the 1st mention of it's development and while it has all but killed me to wait it was WELL worth it. It just does'nt get any better that this. There have been a few titles for the PS2 that were good, but finialy this is a system seller!

I've seen movies such as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Exorcist and have played all the Resident Evil games and Silent Hill 1.Even though all of those have been great movies and games none of them can compare to the experiance Silent Hill 2 will leave you with.First of all you have to play this game in the dark;most preferably alone.The sounds and the look of the game will definantly get to you.Its like they got Satan himself to give some imput for this game because it looks like you're playing in hell. The look of the game reminds me of a Marilyn Manson video or Nine Inch Nails video.Simply scary and creepy stuff all around.The sound is just spectacular.I remember even the first five minutes got to me,when you're walking towards the cemetary.Every Survival Horror fan should get this game,it's a must get.It will leave chills down your spine.Even though I love it so much, I still have to say it shares the throne with Codename Veronica for the PS2 as the best Survival Horror games.

This game really isnt my type but its the best horror game i have ever played.They didnt call it horror for no reason its scary as hell and its not recomended for gamers under 18 years of age.It has great graphics,the kind you bought your Playstation 2 for and it has that horror game sound.You know.But it can get a little hard to control and it is the best and hardest horror game out.Buy this game if your into horror games or if your a fan of the first Silent Hill.These are the kinds of games people bought there Sony Playstation 2 console fot.Peace out,dudes!
