Three words: Scary as Hell!

This is the most frightening game I've ever played. It scared the living daylights out of me. I love the first Silent Hill and this one doesn't disappoint. This makes RE look like a walk in the park. The only problems are the camera, and long walking/backtracking. Don't let that stop you from playing this one hell of a physcological thriller.
great, scary game

SH2 is without a doubt the scariest game I've played. Graphics 5.0, they just look so great. Sound 5.0, hearing the monsters on the radio is creepy, and the voice acting is good and believable. Controls 4.0, sometimes confusing at first, but you'll get used to them. Fun Factor 4.5, After you finish it, its only worth playing through again once or twice.

This game is questionable. One thing for sure the graphics are amazing! Hard to tell your playing a game. A bad thing is the controls kinda suck. The guy moves around like hes 60. He's very slow sometimes when your fighting monsters. The ending boss is very very VERY easy to beat as well. A few shotgun rounds and your good. Silent is a great game cept for the story line. It's kinda weak but ok. I recommend this game to only people who like the Resident Evil games or people who like to kill some monsters/zombies. I think the makers tried ot copy off of the Resident Evil games too much. Pyramid Head looked like a copy off of Scissor Hands from Clock Tower, but thats me. I recommend this game, but I warn you, it gets vvery aggervating. Hopefully Silent Hill 3 will be better
One Of the scariest games ever made!

You are now entering the realm of Silent Hill, a place where your fears come true. In this game you take the role of James Sunderland, a man on a mission to go see his "dead" wife. I know it sounds strange but this is a Silent Hill Game after all. The Graphics are okay considering this game is almost 2 years old. So I give the graphics a 4.0 The Sound is just down right creepy. 5.0 The Controls are a flaw. They truly arent respnsive, but they work with the game. 2.5 The game is so scary it had me on the edge of my seat wondering whats up ahead in the fog. If your a horror game finatic try this on for size. 4.5 Overall
Horror....

Silent Hill 2 naturally blew me away. While the game itself is not perfect (but not far from it) I would call it guinous. The grapics are wonderfull, nice lighting effects and the CG movies are great, and overall really set up the mood for the game. Then your start to hear the game, the music/sound is insane. I have downloaded and burnt to a cd the ost and still listen to it. It wouldnt be the same game without the music (a mixture of ambient, noise, and even rock). The sounds of footsteeps and gunshots are alright, and the voice-overs are pretty good too. But what is even better about the game is what it does to you mentally. Every second you dread the next minute of playing but when you finnaly get to the next save-point you cannot put the controller down. Another example is when you are in a dark hallway, you start to hear the static of your radio increasingly get louder (that tells you when monsters are nearby) and you suddenly stop even though you know if you just walk forward you can take the thing down in a few shots. The puzzles are , overall fairnot a downset but i cant say its a strong point either. The control could take some work though, for a first time player of the series the first time you pick up the controler its horrible. Luckly though after a while it almost becomes a second nature. I would highly recomend this to anyone of the horror genre, other than the repititive monsters and the short gameply this is one of the best.

This game has it all. This game has an amazing way of building up suspense, some parts in the game are slow, but you always have that fealing like something is going to happen. A little tricky with the controls, but once your use to it, its alot of fun. Graphics and sound are amazing! Couldnt put this one down till i was finished. Way better than Fatal Frame, not as much action as in the Resident Evil games, but its a all around decent game.
Okay, but had it's problems

This game is almost everything I hoped it would be. The sound elements were very good, the graphics were amazing, and it definitely was scary. However, while I love being scared, especially if it's a game that's scarring me, I also want there to be an element of entertainment, and that's where this game fell short for me. The game's story gets off to a good start, but the gameplay gets off to a slow start. A SLLLOOOOWWWW start. And for me, it didn't seem to get much better as the game progressed. Many of the visuals are disturbing, and that's a plus. The sound is perfect for this game, another plus. But the gameplay is just too slow and repetitive for me. I also DESPISED the control scheme. I'm sorry, but trying to get used to those controls got on my every last nerve. And that really took away from the experience (that's part of the reason I don't like Resident Evil (GameCube) as much as I'd like to). Overall, the game is very scary, but if you're looking for an exciting rush to go along with the scary stuff, wrong game.
Help Me! I'me scared!

This game is cool, but at the same time saddistacly scary. This is a big step from the previous game, were the fog was there in SH1 because of the load time. With things that go bump in the night, lighting effects, monsters that pop out of the fog, and good story line, this is the game to play in the dark by youself with the volume turned up really loud. Its like watching a horror movie, but your playing it. Be warned about the blood, because this game is not for the faint of heart. Even thought it shares the same control sceme as Resident Evil, it doesn't share its bad carmera angles. But what gets this game a replay is the endings, 5 to be exact. And the fact that you can get cool items playing it again and again. I would highly recommend this game to all my friends. And I can't wait for the next installment.

Silent Hill 2 is a good game. The storyline was alittle fuzzy. But the graphics, sound, and overall feel was good. I love horror games and this game (and the first one) are among the favorite ones I have played. If you like scary games, you need to rent this !
