This was the 1st RPG I ever played and I still love this game. The story about saving the planet from the evil Shinra Corporation is not just the only problem but I'll stop here for those that havent played the game. The battle system is probably the best in any Final Fantasy. Equipping materia to gain strength, HP, or magic is genius. If you can still find this gem, buy it without hesitation.
One of the best games of all time

FFVII is definitely tied as my favorite FF game (FFX is my other favorite). The story, the characters, the gameplay, the all are just plain awesome, and Sephiroth is the coolest and most difficult to defeat villain Squaresoft has ever come up with. I was almost sorry to have to take him out. I do wish the game had come out a tad bit later, just so the graphics would be better, but hey, a great game is a game. In fact, FFVII is more than just a great game, it's one of the best games of all time.
Terrific!

Final fantasy VII is the best Final Fantasy. It has a tremendously good epic story. I have played through the entire game 3 times. This is my second favorite game of all-time after Metal Gear Solid for PlayStation. I love FFVII.
