Metal Gear Solid is one of thos e rare games, I grew up with it and never forgot about it. My first best friend used to play it constantly when we were about 8 or 9, even though this particular game was a bit adult for us. For the longest time I never touched it again until one day I decided I needed it. To this day, the game is just amazing. The graphics are of course a throwback but it takes nothing away from how spectacular it is. To me, the second and third don't compare. I feel sorry for today's generation, never knowing MGS when it was state of the art. I love this game and no other will ever top it.

This is the best series i've ever played. I've been playin this series since i was 8-years old and got hooked. I own all of the game titles and it's downright awesome. It started out as a good series and it contunues as an amazing series that keeps on putting out more than expected.

In Metal Gear Solid, You take on the role of a retired FOX-HOUND agent named SOLID SNAKE. This entire game takes place over an eighteen hour period. Your main objective is to infiltrate a terrorist plant off the coast of Alaska called Shadow Moses Island and try to rescue the DARPA chief and the president of Arms-Tech Douglas Baker as well as stop the nuclear missile equipped walking battle tank.....METAL GEAR!
When you are playing this game, it feel like you are watching a movie. The camera angles, the title, the intro, EVERYTHING. All of these aspects build dramatic effect and just raise the suspense of the game.
Throughout this game the story will take many twists and turns and I was intrigued by every one of them. Everything in this game is explained. In some games you will wonder how did they do that or when did that happen or when did he get here. Every thing of that aspect is explained you never be caught just sitting there and wondering "Why?".
The boss fights are amazing! Every boss has a trick not a pattern a trick to beating them, whether it is plugging your controller into port 2 or navigating a remote controlled missile through a blizzard. The visuals arent the greatest but its a PSX game they were great back then GET OVER IT!!!!
I really cant say anything bad about this game except the following: there was no first person view. Yup that was it, pretty lousy flaw huh? That is honestly the only bad thing that I can say about this game a disk version of this game is a bit pricey $20-$60, but the Playstation Network is selling it for $9.99. This game willl have you hooked from the entering of the plant until the final showdown with Metal Gear itself!

This is the start of one of the greatest game series of all time. My favorite part is the watergate scandal joke about Deepthroat. This changed gaming to the next level.
