Red Faction Borilla
I have no idea how this got a 100 anywhere.
Yes, it's fun. Is it the perfect game though? Simply put; no. This game has many, many game-play flaws.
First off, based on personal knowledge, guerrillas engage in combat behind the scenes, sowing terror and confusion amongst their enemy's ranks before slipping away to do it once more somewhere else. Instead of being like a guerrilla in this game, you're more like a retarded ape. Instead of slipping into a building amongst a crowd, planting a few demolition charges in places no one can see and then finally blowing it up a decent ways away from the target, you'd just be better off crashing a vehicle into the building and smashing it up with your god-hammer when your transportation inevitably gets stuck.
This brings me to the physics engine. Sure, almost anything can be destroyed and it's pretty fun to destroy. However, when you smack buildings with limited supports, should you not expect the building to topple and fall? No, amazingly enough, these buildings on Mars have SUPER STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY and as long as they're held up by unboiled spaghetti, they'll stay upright until you hit the last beam. You'll most likely be standing under the structure when you do this and you'll inevitably be killed by falling debris. Good job.
The enemy AI is as retarded as the physics. If you even have a small traffic collision on the road with the EDF, you better kiss your ass goodbye unless you can outrun them. Then, you better hope you don't run into any other patrols or checkpoints lest you be fired upon. However, I can kill a civilian, keep hitting his body with my hammer and be completely ignored. Once you kill one of the EDF though, you're pretty much boned even if no one else sees the attack. It's as if all the other retards gather their retard node and realize that one of their flock is gone.
The missions are not very varied either, having only slight variations of defend, transport, ambush and snatch/grab for the "choose your own adventure" missions. The Red Faction missions are basically that as well. I hope you like repetition. Well, you must love it to give it a 100.
The story is just as disappointing as anything else in this game. Alec Mason is just trying to live a simple mining life on Mars. He doesn't even care about the Red Faction movement until his brother is killed by the EDF. That turns him into a Punisheresque figure and ultimately begins his process of revenge. To be honest, Alec Mason is a very smart man. Well, on Mars he is. The only reason he's a genius though is for the simple reason that every one of your comrades is completely stupid. They just calmly shoot at your enemies without concern for cover or safety. My main gripe about your retard squad allies is that they can not even get into a vehicle with more than one seat unless it's part of the mission. That's just lame and stupid. Stop skipping out on very easy things to add to this game to make it slightly more believable, developers.
Graphics are pretty shitty. Bland textures, everything. You get new games that are shit brown with a little bit of bloody stool mixed in with Red Faction, but beyond that, it's not impressive in the slightest.
I wonder if whoever "professionally" reviewed this was paid to give such a "superb" review of a mediocre game that would only appeal to mostly childish people. "Hur hur hur, I love destroying things," I hear people cry when giving this game fellatio.
In closing, this game is bad. Fun for about five minutes but very, very bad.
P.S. - I hate "ratings". This game is shit, I don't need 1 or 5 stars to tell me that.
