PSP 3000 simply has a Minor Major approach.
Simply amazing....well if you already have one, you may not feel that way, but to those who trully invest in the quality of their PSP system, THIS is by far the better version. With each upgrade the Playstation Portable makes, it brings you closer and closer to what portable gaming should trully be. Now let's get to the Pro's and Con's.
Pro's- There's a huge difference in the visuals with the 3000 compared to the 1000 and 2000 series. Brighter, fuller, sleeker tones. Almost sexy, lol. The decrease in glare is visiable, but playing in DIRECT sun light is just stupid, lol. You'll have a hard time trying to do that. But there has been a slight decrease in glare. There's a slight difference in audio that to the untrained ear won't be recognizable. But eventually, you WILL notice the change in quality even without head phones. Load times differ between having games on UMD and having them saved to a memory stick. But there has been an increase in the timing. The lower button layouts "home" button now brandishes the PlayStation emblem and the other lower buttons (Including the Home Button) have a more oval shape. Sexy, see?
Con's- Damn it! It's screen is still a magnet for finger prints, which is the most physical downfall of every psp. And the piano black is a magnet for finger prints as well, but the silver version has a matte finish in which finger prints are simply non existant. But the choice is yours. As I said before the load times with UMD has always been a problem, but having a Memory Stick that you can download and store your games to (IMO) dramatically decreases the load times.
Recomendations:Although this isn't a MUST have upgrade, those who are NEW to the world of PSP will appreciate having one more than older PSP vets. If you're a die-hard PSP user, I recomend geting this as a simple upgrade when your current PSP has finnally gotten on your last nerves (I.e scratches to the screen and outside of the system, nicks and scratches (Piano Black version.).).
If you don't want to deal with finger prints, but want the system in a different color, try visiting colorwarepc.com. They specialize in a variety of colorizations to multiple gaming systems, computer systems, and even iPods and cellphones with a special coating. Check it out!
