Games based on movies and books are rarely as good as their film or literary counterparts, but the Return of the King is a decent attempt in this genre. The action is realistic and reminiscent of the film, but some of the elements really stray from the movie in order to make the story flow. I won't even touch on how these games relate to the books; if I did, this review would be pretty terrible. Further, the end of the game is a little anti-climactic. However, as an offshoot of the movie, the game does a pretty good job of portraying the story and makes for some fun gameplay, especially in multiplayer.
