Why The 360 Is The Console For Me
To start off, I have a PS1, PS2, PSP, and an Xbox 360. Why no PS3 you ask? Well I'm about to tell you. With about 50 real life friends that use Xbox Live, social gaming is a major advantage to owning a 360. When ever I am on, there is ALWAYS someone I can play with, and on the chance I don't want to, the LIVE community of 12 million people will keep you busy. Put this with a Netflix membership and a LIVE party, and you can soon be enjoying a movie with your buds from school, work, online, etc. So the already great online service is going to become even better this fall, and I can't wait.
The Games-
With titles like Halo, Fable, Grand Theft Auto, Gears of Ware, and Rock Band all containing exclusive, or timed exclusive content for the 360, their gaming lineup is great. When put with the almighty online community, your gaming just got even better!
The Price-
Coming in at $300 for the 60 GB version, the 360 is great on the wallet! In fact, the only disadvantage is the crazy amount of games you will want to get!
The Graphics-
Don't ever let anyone tell you the PS3 has better graphics! They might have blu-ray, but the only advantage is disk space! Multi-platform games are going to be the same on both consoles, and the only time the PS3 will see better graphics, is on exclusive titles. At the time, there aren't many, and the lineup doesn't appeal much to me... Unless you want to play MGS4, and watch 10+ hours of cutscenes, PS3 games don't have the luxury of a 360 title.
While I could go on, this is the bottom line for buying a console. If you are in the market, online play, games, price, and graphics are probably going to be you top priorities. My recomendation, go with the 360, you won't regret it.

lol that was poorly written with some pretty stupid opinions.
In my opinion, the only people who have permission to diss other consoles are the people who actually own them. You don't know sh*t about a PS3 or 360 until you've actually had one.
And as an owner of all 3 systems (ugh..even a wii), I know whose system is the best. And it ain't Microsoft's....

I agree with the above reviewer. I have seen a friend of mine's PS3 in action, I even borrowed it when they were moving for an extended amount of time, and while I was a Sony fan through the PS1 and PS2 years, I broke that trend with the X-Box 360. While I do admit that it does have its shortcomings, but there was nothing that the PS3 had that I really wanted. Social gaming has become a major point of fun for me, and still remains to be deciding factor in why I choose my X-Box 360 over any other console on the market.

Your arguement on price is misleading and total rubbish.
If you want an apples to apples comparison, the 360 ends up being more expensive.
By this I mean, for comparable functionality you would need to factor in the price of annual subscriptions, wifi and hd-dvd addon.
I know that's being mean, but it's true. You only need one of these to send the price over that of the PS3. The PS3 may have a higher initial outlay, but that's it. In the long run it's much cheaper than the 360. The only extra you will pay for is DLC.
Having played my friends 360 for a substantial amount of time, the differences between live and PSN are very negligable, It's not worth paying a subscription fee for stuff you ought to get for free or for dubious services you don't really need. It's an even bigger rip-off when you're paying to play online on peer-to-peer servers.
I have about 30 people on my friends list and when I go online, I have no trouble finding someone to play.
In terms of games, that's your opinion. I don't thing gears2 looks or plays as good as some people think. The action feels flat, and the only thing next gen about it is the graphics. 8-10 player online? you've got to be joking. All the other exclusives are generic sci-fi shooters riddled with cliche's and boring art direction. I don't think you've played MGS4. That game is a masterpiece. The gameplay is top notch, though the cutscenes are long, it never gets dull thanks to the well written story and characters. Very smart game MGS4.
The 360 still can't do DTS sound for movies. The PS3 can do them in-game and it is awesome.
I digress. Though some the things you mentioned in your article are your opinion. Please get your facts straight.
I for one will never get a 360 as it was rushed to market even though MS new they had serious design and manufacturing problems. It's almost been 3 years and they still haven't fixed it. They're playing you for fools.

Well, I own all 3 consoles and the 360 is by far superior for a pure gaming machine. This is knocking the PS3, I do like the console, but the shear number of real world contacts provide for a much better experience on the 360. I don't get why are still figuring in the cost of the hd-dvd add on for the 360? This has nothing to do with playing video games. Also let's not assume every person is going to go wireless, so let's eliminate that from the 360 cost.

funny that no mention of the 3 red lights isnt a con or the fact that you have to spend more $$$ to make it even comparable to the PS3 in terms of wireless, harddrive space, etc. again i own all 3 so im not biased towards one system over another

i own all 3 consoles as well and won't knock the ps3, but i do have to say that me and my freinds who own both consoles(360 and ps3) all enjoy our 360 more. i don't use wireless on my 360 so thats not a price issue for me (although i do use it for ps3 and i have lots of problems with it- and no its not my router everyother wireless device works great with it) i like the blue ray player but so fAR the list of exclusive ps3 games doesn't do a whole lot for me. multiplatform games don't seem to be any better on the ps3 as i have rented games on ps3 that i own on 360 to make my own comparison.actually the ps3 load times and online system updates seem longer to me. and i do find the need to install the games annoying but its still a great sytem(just look at its failure rate- its really low)it's just a matter of preferance and iwish people didnt get so angry and finatical over it. i hate the fact that i have to plug my controllers into charge em with the system running, but i like not buying batteries.so thats a catch 22.but why wen i bought an extra ps3 controller it didn't even come with a cable to charge it with? i just prefer the way the online is works for 360 but paying for it is crap. i like that i can play online and hav ne music i want coming through as the soundtrack while kickin tail in cod4. either way they both rock in comparison to the wii wich i own but don't like- the motion controls do feel tacked on and ockward in alot of cases and it has a lot of crap in its game library ALOT OF CRAP.
