PlayStation 3 - PS3

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals
Awesome audio
Engaging story
Loads of content
Epic boss fights
Intense action
Addictive gameplay
Tight controls
Innovative concepts
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun
One and only current- gen console.

What the title says... it is. Think about it you 360 owners/ fanboys. Let me ask you just one SIMPLE question. Was there a vast leap between Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 besides online service, and amount of games? My answer will be 'no.' No because the 360 is basically an HD Xbox 1 with better components. As for the PS3 it jumped to Blu- ray (Something NEW from 6th generation), and it jumped to having an 8- core processor (CELL). That's impressive to me. PS3 is a monster yet, it has a very low failure rate! Sony pushed the PS3 forward unlike M$ they pushed 360 a little forward. And with BD having 50 GB of storage? Future PS3 games that take up everything can fit 6 Halo 3's. So yeah.......i really think Sony took the PS3 to a whole different level. Like entirely a whole different level. Okay maybe i'm exaggerating just a bit. Well yeah there it is.

Good post man.

I think the funny but kind of pathetic thing is that most ppl who say PS3 sucks just cannot afford one, and therefore have never actually experienced one . So they automatically say it sucks just to make themselves feel better about it LOL.

It's natural for an immature fanboy to hate what they can't have *sigh*

I have all three, but the only one I'm going to call "next-gen" is PS3. Xbox and Wii still use DVDs. Xbox makes absolutely no special ground in hardware; only software.

So yeah man, I agree. Every console has it's flaws but the Ps3 really is the only one which has more good than bad really.

And I would know; I have all 3. I simply laugh at people who defend just 360 or Wii. Sorry, but if I just had a 360 or just a wii I would not be a happy gamer; getting all 3 works the best

what a ignorant fan boy. look up the ps3 specs and compare them with the 360. and even if the ps3 was more powerful *gaming wise* what good is all that power with hardly any good games.

Wow,
Where did you get your information from the side of the PS3 box. I think every system made have those pros listed. You think you would at least list the Blu Ray Capabilities. You forgot to mention a few cons. 1 Sony's notorious customer service. Ill take my 1 disc of Halo 3 on DVD any day. Last time I checked Resitance FoM took 6hours to complete, btw was that on Blu Ray. Didn't GTA 3 have a higher resolution on 360 also?

PS3 has the raw power, 8 Cores and a boatload of RAM.

xbox420king has a point, the power isn't being used to its potential.

Here my bottom line

The 360 is badass but it has some major shortcomings. The tri core CPU powered console was RUSHED into sale which caused problems. People were introduced to the Red Ring Of Death.

The PS3 was horribly expensive but didn't have many problems. The PS3 is built for the long run, it should last as long as the previous gen consoles. The raw power it has longevity in mind.

If you think about it the 360 its severely limited on how you can use it. The software is pretty locked down, you can only watch content on DVD or on live. The HDD is not upgradeable and WIFI costs about $70-100 depending where you buy. The inclusion of avatars makes it feel like its copying the Wii. The use of DVD media makes it feel like a setback but they would have done better if HD DVD was used as the main media.

The PS3 on the other hand has built in Wifi and the current model allows for the addition of movies, music, and photos. It doubles as a PC in a pinch and has the ability for remote access using a PS3. PS Network is free forever and you can use PS home play minigames. Blue Ray allows for larger files and more complex instructions so games are more capable of doing more. The PS3's Hard Drive is actually upgradeable for cheap and it doesn't void any warranties.

Think about this

The PlayStation lasted from 1995 to 2006, the PS2 still sells 9 years after introduction (2000), how long will the PS3 Last??

These are production dates not game dev dates
