'Supreme' is the word 'Command' the action
When I first heard of Supreme Commander, I was interested. When I learned it was a spin off sequal to Total Annihilation (one of the best RTSs) I preordered. Your first experience with SC is literally breathtaking. zooming in and out wherever you want is brilliant, and will surely be coppied by others multiple times. Graphics: detailed, very realistically scaled models move smoothly (of course depending on your rig). Sound: epic orchestrating soundtracks pump throughout every battle, however some of the great tracks and moods from TA are MIA. Campaign: One of SC's downfalls, the campaign is short with 6 missions (massive, 10- objective missions nonetheless) in each of the three factions and the story is somewhat weak and cliche. The characteristics of each faction only come through in voice acting, colors, and cinematics. Gameplay: The resource management from TA returns with new bonuses for architectural placement. A severe lack of building options (i.e. a whopping total of 2 bots available at tech 3) plagues the otherwise customizable bases. All units become virtually void later in skirmishes as both sides put up shields and bombard each other with 4 different artillery cannons- A.I. can be annoying in that sense. All factions are the exact same disregarding paint jobs and experimental units, which is disappointing considering how unique they sound like. System Requirements: very steep, Some (insanely) massive 81kmx81km maps will slow your system down to a stop while heating your CPU to global-warming-like heights. Pros: the most innovative RTS in years, great graphics, and a must have for RTS kings. Cons: Not a whole lot like Total Annihilation, no faction differences, shallow skirmishes against smart A.I.s
