Final Fantasy VI Advance

Final Fantasy VI Advance - GBA

Another awesome remake from Square

What do you get when you mix retro goodness with newer technology? The final fantasy advance series from square enix. The company just cranked out another remake, this one of the american Final fantasy 3. After a few minutes of play I was impressed. To start with, the sound has improved from its old SNES roots, all of the music sounds as crisp and clean as if it was from the playstation version. The graphics are very notable, they are some of the best sprite-based images I have seen. The controls, as usual for a turn-based RPG are quick and easy, which is good because of Final Fantasy's ATB system, which requires active command input. The gameplay adds some new elements such as the Magicite, Esper, and Relic systems, all of which are easy to learn and implement. The storyline and characters are also gripping, you can almost feel an emotional attachment to each and every one. One of the best aspects of this GBA port is the additional content not featured in the original version. new dungeons, enemies, the beastiary and music player, all of these mesh right in with the original. Overall, this game is a long, fun, and grand adventure.
