Card Battle? in a game, actually good? Impressive.
Don't let the dreaded card battle class of this title scare you off. It is a fun and exciting game that requires skill and strategy with every excruciating boss fight. The game should take roughly 20 hours or more to complete both Sora and Riku's storylines. The game is one of the highest quality games ever produced on the GBA, housing 3-D quality videos that resemble the first game from PS2. It picks up exactly where the epilouge in KH left off and will again lead Sora through the worlds of the Disney animated film franchise along with the Final Fantasy charcters fans have grown to love. My favorite part of this game is the story line. It is original and sets the player up for Kingdom Hearts II. It is a difficult game to master relying heavily on developing a strong deck of cards that are used to attack. Each card has a number and must break the opponents cards to counter and attack. It proves to be diffcult when dealing with boss charcters and can get frustrating until a strategy to defeat the boss is developed. Deck building is not the only interesting and original aspect to this game, the exploration part may have been skimped on, but the games also features a leveling system that is similar to an RPG. A player will have a choice between raising HP, Card Points to buld a stronger eack or learning speical combo attacks. Each time a player levels up they must make this choice. It has proved to be one of the mroe in depth titles I have played on the GBA and well worth its price tag.
