Sonic Advance

Sonic Advance - GBA

Sonic Advance was my first game for the GBA!

Intro Well, I remember when I was in ether in 2nd or 3rd Grade when I got Sonic Advance for my new Game Boy Advance (bought these two games at Circuit City, which is now closed years later...memories). I remember playing this game and I was stuck on a couple of levels but I pulled it off when I defeated Dr. Eggman (or Dr. Ivo Robotnik...such a cool name including the 'Ivo' part). OF course I didn't got all of the emeralds because I sadly lost this game...:'(...that's OK, with a GBA Emulator and a Sonic Advance ROM, I'll be sure to play this game again :)! Gameplay Well the game is like a 16-bit Sonic game but with a more cool/manga like detail to the characters. You can be able to play as 4 characters: Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy. Sonic can run really fast, even faster then a speed of sound. Knuckles can glide across the air until you land on the ground or stop gliding. Miles (AKA Tails) can fly with his two tails for a short time so be careful were you might end up landing if Tails ends up getting tired. Finally Amy Rose, she can't really run fast and she cant spin to go faster. She dose have a big hammer to smash enemies with but that dosn't mean she's worthless. Story Well...it's basicly Dr. Eggman/Robotnick stealing all the emeralds to take over the world; same old, same old and Snoic and friends must defeate the crasy Doctor but the game wasn't made for a story. It was made so you can complet a level as soon as possible. Graphics The Graphics look cool in this game, the sprites and the backgrounds look awsome. That's all. Music/Sound There are some recinizable music from past sonic games and there are new ones that are eather catchey or remind you of eather Summer or Winter. Extras/ETC The Chao Garden is basicly a garden for your Chao. You can feed and take care of your chao and also buy items like a TV, a trumpet (or somthing), and a duck toy (but he wont really swim in the water unless he's good at swiming). In the Chao garden there are two mini games. One is basicly a rock, paper, siccors game and the other is a pic and guess game. Conclusion Well, the game is fun, I loved it when I was a 2nd/3rd grade student, and I may take a look on Sonic Advance 2 and 3.
