Even killing everything that moves gets boring...
Unreal II, being a beautiful game, has only one charm, I'm afraid; nearly flawless graphics. It is indeed fun to look at, with its curved surfaces and micro-mipped textures, but I felt like the game was intended for little kids... However, the language in the game suggested otherwise. I say this because the dialogue the characters have are wholey uninspired and unrealistic, the characters look dopey and disproportioned (The only exception being Aina, the second in command, but she has her own set of disproportions I won't complain about) and everything plays out not unlike a cartoon (The scientists run like they're constipated). I was expected some balance between puzzles, gunplay, and stealth; the standards of FPS' today, really. All Unreal II is is a short blast-the-hell-out-of-everything-and-enter-the-obvious- door-for-the-next-fight game. Sure, that can be fun, but it gets old just mindlessly plowing through enemies in the game, especially when your guns lack finesse and are all clumsy-lookin', and your enemies run into your gunfire to fight you; there's no intelligence behind how you battle. There's no advantages to doing anything but charge into gunfire, and that aspect ruined the game for me. So, if you're looking for a very pretty, yet very short boring experience, buy Unreal II.
