The standard for all Boxing games
Fight Night 2004 is the new standard for boxing games. This game could revolutionize how all future boxing games are created. EA gave their series Knockout Kings a complete overhaul and manifested one of the greatest sports games of all time. It includes a new method of boxing via throwing punches and blocking with the analog sticks. This is a great new concept, but can be hard to master. The controls can be switched so that punches and blocks are preformed with buttons. Button mashing, however, will get you nowhere but laid out on the canvas. In no time you will be bobbin' n weavin' like Muhammad Ali. He is one of the big name fighters featured including Ray Lewis, Felix Trinidad, and many more top contenders. The between fight training helps players improve both the skills of their boxer as well as their own skills. The graphics are astounding, with real-time evidence of the match on each boxers face. The fighting venues have been wonderfully rendered, causing a player to occasionally take his eye off the fight to enjoy the scenery. The A.I. is challenging with each fighter having his own style that you must crack before you can beat him and rise to the top of the ranks and become Champion of the World in 6 different weight classes. The ending of a boxer's career once he becomes Champion and defends his title could have been made more spectacular though. EA has added another great title to its arsenal. Fight Night 2004 is the best boxing game since Punch-Out. As Mike Tyson would say, "This is a great addition to a Magna-Ferocious series." ~Kevin Nuest
