Okay, don't get me wrong, I am not an EA Sports hater, but Madden 2004 is not better than ESPN. On Madden you have playmaker controls, which is good for offense but useless on defense. Then you have owner mode in a franchise which is a huge addition and deserves some respect. But now lets move on over to ESPN. I admit that their passing game is the same, but everything else has changed for the better. First of all, you have the crib, which brings unlockables to a whole new level, it ranges from building up your trophy collection, to playing mini games, to playing fly music in the jukebox, to doing trivia questions, extremely fun. Next on the list is First Person Football. Even I thought Sega and VC was crazy for coming up with this idea, but never to underestimate because they found a way to make it work. Even small things like the replays make this game worth getting. The halftime report and Nfl Primetime are truly amazing, I felt like I was watching a real football game. What's more, after scoring a touchdown, you can watch you players jump in joy from the sideline or they will jump in the crowd, very, very excellent addition and make the game look as real as can get. This contest between Madden and ESPN is getting down to the wire, I give this one to ESPN, but I can't wait to see what both EA Sports and Sega will do next year. This is a very good football game and even if you are a Madden fan, I strongly advese you to pick it up.
