First egyptians, then modern nerds, then english card collectors?!
This game is quite similar to Fire Emblem, except mixed with Yu-Gi-Oh concepts. The game is about a modern duelist(you) who is transported all the way back in the old ages and is taken to Stone Hedge. You meet a weird guy in a robe and gives you a deck of cards. He tells you to join some group who represents the Red Rose. That group happens to be fighting a group known as the White Rose. The Red Rose is led by Yugi, while the White Rose is led by Kaiba. However,Kaiba appears before the hooded man and you have a choice of joining either one. Both sides are going to be a challenge, as you will fight the enemy leaders who both have devastating cards(Yugi has 5 exodia cards, while Kaiba has an Ultimate Dragon). The graphics are average,as the only animations of cards are their effects, the polygon model of a monster card, and the victory stance of a monster card. The enviorments are alright, but they seem too plain. The music is good, but why is the music alright in the gameplay but the music is...slow-paced in the battle sequences? So now for the gameplay. Like I said, it's a combination of Yu-Gi-Oh and Fire Emblem. You place your cards one at a time per turn on a grid. Each square is a certain terrain, and the monster on it will either take advantage, suffer or not interact with it at all. But the Yu-Gi-Oh basics stay; if a monster has more attack points than the other, victory for the attacker. Overall, this game will be very good for Yu-Gi-Oh fans, but the newcomers to Yu-Gi-Oh may like it, but be able to avoid it. My personal complaint though: why does the Surrender option have it's own button?
