Airblade - PS2

Kill Switch

*sighs* Where do I begin? Okay, first off, to everyone that saw the adds for this game, I gotta tell you, DO NOT BE SUCKERED INTO BUYING THIS GAME!! $50.00 could be used for so many better things, like pre- ordering GTA: SAN ANDREAS or buying that gerbil you always wanted! Hmm..maybe not. Moving along.. The "mission control" voice actor sounds like one of the programer's dad. His husky, awkward voice follows you the whole way, YIPEE! And don't forget, your technology expert, who's name is something like michelle, really should earn a grammy for her ground breaking preformance. I could hear better voice acting from my 4 year-old sister, sheesh! The levels are small, extremely linear, and quite cheap I must say. You'll find yourself being killed when you could've sworn you were hidden! Also, the is terribly ironic. You're supposed to react quick and without thought, saving your ass by leaping to hide behind a broken pillar or a twisted heap of car metal. But instead, unresponsive controls leave you standing out in the midst of crossfire, being pelted with AK rounds. The music is boring and repetitive, and will have you wanting to grind down you ear drums, or at least turn down the volume. Cinematics are pitiful, consisting of a wide-screen format, your character standing in a new level, and talking. The character's mouths don't even move! Are they thinking in their heads? Must be telepathic!! The missions are extremely repetitive, having you do the same thing ove and over and over to the same terrorists over and over and over. Shoot, roll, crouch, hide, rinse and repeat, etc. Aside from my scathing review, kill switch does have a COUPLE redeeming qualities (though not enough for me to give it above a 2.0). I admit that a few parts were actually entertaining, probably being the first mission. But too many multiple faults bring this waste of a good idea dowwwwn dowwwwn dowwwwn! Pce out, more reviews to come, search for my name!! Hitmandan (a.k.a metro)
