An offer you most definitely cannot refuse
I bought this game the day it came out, and finished it pretty much a day and a half later (hey I had classes, gimme a break). Four of my friends also purchased the game the same day as I did, and, between the five of us, we gave pretty good reviews. First off, I have to say, if you have never seen The Godfather movies, then I can understand why you would be mad at this game. The point of the game was not to be a GTA copy, although it does mimic Grand Theft Auto in the scheme of the game, such as the missions and safehouses aspects. Some of my friends who watched me play complained that there wasn't enough action, and were upset that the game didn't include a prostitute segment, like in Vice City and San Andreas. Basically, they were mad that my character wasn't getting any. That didnt bother me, because I bought the game for the movie aspect of it. I loved how they integrate your character into the most famous scenes from the movie. The Luca Brasi murder scene, the Michael Corleone shooting of Solozzo and McKluskey, the whacking of Don Barzini on the steps of the courthouse. Incredible. Making Barzini responsible for your father's death gives the game a personal feel as well. While climbing up the ranks of the Corleone family, you feel as though you're just being groomed for taking revenge on Barzini. When the time comes, Barzini says "I knew it would be you" and then you avenge your father's death. Again, I get excited with these kind of games because I'm a fan of the movie....I own the DVD collection and my room is covered in posters. lol If you're a mob movie fan, then The Godfather is for you. If you're more a GTA fan and rely on beating up hookers and homeless people for your fun, then you might not want to get this game.
