No longer be trouble by the mediocrity of Xbox platformers...
Upon hearing that there would be a new Tim Schaffer game I was a bit excited. The upon hearing it would be a platformer on the Xbox involving psychic powers, and psychology, my interest was peaked. However, it took me longer than a year to finally pick up this title, due to guilt. This is one of the best games the Xbox has to offer, and definetely the absolute best plaformer on the console as well. The story starts out simply enough, you are a gifted child. Your abilites have been shunned by your parents. Trying to nuture it, you find you way to a secret training facility for psychic agents of the government. From there it takes off, and the comdey is absolutely spectacular. One of the few funny games out today in the current generation. I will admit, I played the first few levels, and was completely dissapointed, but once the platforming took off, I was hooked. The powers you gain are easy to use, as well as fun. I can't tell you how much enjoyment I got out of using the Psychic jump ball. Not only is it funny, and a blast to play, but it is also challenging. A few times I had to sit out and think about some of the moves I was going to make. But its challenging without being frustrating, which is exactly what you want from a game. All in all Psychonauts is one amazing title, that should never have been overlooked. (Cheers.)
