Auto Pilot on? PART 1
Soundwise... There is, like, NO commentary. There is like 3 sayings. The crowd gets annoying. The ONE song that plays during the games menu is ok... for awhile. Graphics... Are very good. Like I said they're generation 2 PSX quality. Madden97/98 to be exact. The bottom screen is useless... This will be an excellent PSP port. They are enough that you don't gag after a few hours or play. Control... AGH The DS has too small of buttons I also am waiting for a peripheral that makes the DS "thicker". The thing is just too slim and lopsided in weight distribution to play effectively. Is this EA's fault? No. So they made do ok. The control scheme is familiar. Just get used to the DS and you're gold. The power button is SO awkwardly placed also. Because of the off balanced weight I end to rest my index finger right on the power button... Which again, has nothing to do with Madden or EA's downfall. Overall... It may seem like a bashed the hell out of this game in the preceding text..., which I did... but I didn't. I actually am putting it on the same level of comparison as XBOX, PS2, y GCN. I believe this to be a complement in the highest regard. The graphics will charm you I think to the point to where you will forgive it of its shortcomings. It's by far the BEST looking and playing Sports game on a handheld ever. Remember I was comparing it to the big boys when I said those mean things. IT IS THE BEST HANDHELD SPORTS GAME EVER. If you take anything from this review take that. The PSP port will surly blow this port out of the water in EVER category. This is coming from a Nintendo supporting NON-BIAS opinion. It just will. There will be no argument here. If you are going to buy BOTH handhelds, buy the PSP port. If you have a DS and like/love sports games, GET THIS ONE. That is all I have to say -- RedfeatheR
