Ninety-Nine Nights

Ninety-Nine Nights - Xbox 360

Hack n slash reinvented, and at the sametime sent back to the stone age

Alot of people say it is like Dynasty Warriors and kingdom Under fire, but not having played those games, i will not make the comparison. The Good: - Many different attack combos. Many say the game gets repetitive and it does, but not in that department. It is mentally impossible to memorize all the combos. And all of them do look beutiful on the 360. -7 different characters. Many say they are the same, i beg to differ. They are all very unique and different. -Obviously, the big one here, is the hordes of enemies on screen at one time. You get a powerful feeling after you jump into a crowd of orcs, make a pretty combo and 4 seconds later be surrounded by countless number of corpses The BAD: - The main reason why i gave it a low score...checkpoints. Some missions can be short, having no check points is managble then. But what do you do when after a 40 minutes in a mission you get killed? Start the whole 40 minutes over. you may say "Well thats just one tough mission" WRONG! Majority of mssions last 35 to 45 minutes long. Ouch! the game gets annoying really fast, and becomes a chore to play -Repetitive.All the levels seem extrodinary and enchanting, for the first 20 minutes. Then one mission after an other on the same exact map over and over. Level designs are the same, 4 different at most. Only about 5 different enemies, repetitive as well -Moronical boss battles You fight through a mission 40 minutes, and get killed by a boss that takes very little damage only once every 6-10 hits. Then you endure 40 minutes again, and it repeats. Bosses are also tough as hell Bottom Line: Ninenty Nine Nights tried good and hard, and brought forward great and intresting ideas. But also forgot what really makes a game fun
