Blade

Akin to the half-vampire, half-human title character, Blade's gameplay is a hybrid of sorts: half Tomb Raider, half Syphon Filter... and all bad.

Akin to the half-vampire, half-human title character, Blade's gameplay is a hybrid of sorts: half Tomb Raider, half Syphon Filter... and all bad. From a behind-the-character view, you'll lead Blade on a mission to destroy fellow vampires and other monsters. Despite its intriguing premise, Blade's execution is fatally flawed. Didn't see the bottomless pit that cost you a life? Too bad. Remember that save point you used a really long time ago? Start back there...you get the idea. The only redeeming factor is some cool weapons, but you'll probably get your ass kicked long before you can use them. Comic fans looking for a decent game adaptation should stick with Spider-Man.

Graphics
The game's 3D behind-the-character view is marred by awkward camera angles, and the realm of the night is marked by washed-out graphics.

Sound
Anemic music and bland effects make it seem like someone drained the life of Blade's sound.

Control
Thanks to unresponsive controls and lame play mechanics, the game quickly becomes a torture session.

Fun Factor
Blade is a kick-ass hero in the comics and movies, but take away the "kick" and what you're left with adequately describes this game.
