Review: Colin McRae Rally 2.0
Rally racing rides again on the PlayStation. Codemasters brings Colin McRae back, and it?s better than ever!
Colin McRae Rally 2.0 offers traditional rally racing where you tackle the course alone against the clock with limited breaks for repairs and retooling, or a standard Arcade mode where you rub fenders with a pack of other racers. If you?re into racing at all, CMR?s definitely worth its sticker price. You might be surprised by how much you enjoy rally racing when it?s done this well.
GRAPHICS
Clean and consistent backgrounds and good-looking cars keep McRae looking nice. At times it?s difficult to tell where the track is due to all the mud, but that?s just one of the hardships of rally racing.
SOUND
Good car sounds, but the constant instruction from your co-pilot gets old, ?right, right, left, right?? throughout the race, that guy?s gotta shut up.
CONTROL
This is how a rally game should control. Once you get used to your car?s skidding tendencies you can plan ahead and skid into and out of turns for efficient and exciting turn navigation.
FUN FACTOR
The mud, the jumps, the skids, and fun track designs make Colin McRae Rally 2.0 one very enjoyable racing title.
