Review: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
THPS is back on the system that launched its massive success. Can the PS still cut it?
Like its PS2 big brother, THPS3?s structure mixes some of the best elements from the previous two games. Levels are admirably large, but the draw-in distance is pretty dreadful, and sometimes the camera can?t keep up. The new revert move enables massive vert-to-street-to-vert combos, but the controls don?t seem super-precise. Tony Hawk?s Pro Skater 3 isn?t the revolution that the THPS2 was (or that the current PS2 version is), but it?s still a solid game that PlayStation owners will be glad to add to their collection. If you?re not planning on upgrading to PS2 any time soon, this one?s worth picking up.
