The future of Bomberman looks bleak for next-gen gamers as Bomberman: Act Zero fizzles out on the Xbox 360. But all is not lost: Bomberman for the PlayStation Portable remains true to the timeless classic and should set off little bombs of joy in the hearts of nostalgic gamers everywhere.

Those blocks look suspiciously like Legos
The premise of Bomberman is simple--an evil robot army is wrecking havoc around the cosmos and it's up to Bomberman to once again restore peace to the galaxy.
Bombs Away!
Traveling to different planets, you will encounter a vast array of different environments including a tropical jungle world, which is no vacation by any means, a frightening trip to Spook World, and the scorched plains of Lava World. With so many different worlds to visit, it would have been nice to have the option of free travel between them all. However, you'll need a key before you can progress to the next. Also, if you leave a world without first clearing it, all of your progress is wiped out and you'll have to start all over when you return from another planet.
There are 100 hundred levels in all filled with unique enemies, loaded with Bomberman powerup goodies, and knee-deep in frustration. Being a puzzle game, failing often is part of the learning curve. But after numerous restarts and enemies that send you packing with one hit, starting the same level over for the tenth time really gets the blood pumping.
PROTIP: In boss fights, lay down as many bombs as possible for a guaranteed hit. Just remember where you put them or you're toast.
Bomberman vets will recognize the familiar powerups such as increased bombs, more speed, and bigger explosions but there are plenty more to help you strengthen your abilities. However, with such a large number of items, cycling through them all with the shoulder buttons is distracting, especially when the action heats up around you.
Last Bomberman Standing
For multiplayer enthusiasts, Battle Mode will pit you and up to three opponents in an all out brawl to be the last Bomberman standing. Play alone versus the computer for practice or take on your bomber buddies with plenty of changeable options so you'll never get bored of the same old thing. Game sharing is included so not everyone has to own a copy of the game.
Backed by the power of the PSP, the world of Bomberman is now rendered entirely in 3D. As a portable game, Bomberman on the PSP is an enticing title to add to your portable gaming library with hours of single player adventures and multiplayer mayhem. It's quick to pick up and easy to put down which is everything a portable game should be.
There's nothing like getting together with friends and blowing each other to smithereens
PROTIP: You'll need to collect keys before you can visit another world to save.
