WTF: Work Time Fun, the PSP's newest collection of zany mini-games will have you screaming WTF all the livelong day!
With a name like WTF, you'd expect a little quirkiness. And that's exactly what Work Time Fun is all about. While you could easily call it Wario Ware PSP, WTF looks to provide Sony handheld gamers with a similar pick up and play experience. And like Wario Ware, WTF is very bizarre -- in a good way.
WTF is a localized version of the Japanese game Baito Hell 2000 that reached super trendy status in overseas. As you might have deciphered from the title, WTF is all about work; but who said you can't have fun on the job? WTF is essentially a collection of quirky mini-games that challenge you to perform different job tasks with often hilarious circumstances.
For example, one game pins you as a security guard at a rock concert where you must fend off crazed fans that charge the stage. Another, Chick Sorting, has you sort baby chickens depending on whether they are male, female, or just plain dead (probably run over by a tractor, but who can tell?). In a game called Lumber Jack, you'll have to quickly chop pieces of wood, but avoid splitting the cute pink bunnies that get mixed in between.
Our favorite game, Drunken Mayor, puts you in the sauced-up shoes of a tipsy mayor at a ribbon cutting ceremony -- each level loads him up with more booze and balancing those scissors gets progressively difficult.
Your demon employer will start you out with four jobs, and more will unlock as you successfully complete each one. Just like in the real work world, finishing a job pays money -- perform the job better, and you'll earn more dough. Then, you can use your income to buy more games, any of the 400+ collectible trinkets that you can trade with friends via wireless ad hoc, and several PSP tools (you must have the WTF game running to use them) that turn your handheld into a world clock, bar calculator, flashlight, and even a disturbingly sexy ramen timer, among others.
There are a total of 40 mini-games (35 single-player, 5 multiplayer), and unlike Wario, these ones can last up to a few minutes. Look for WTF: Work Time Fun on September 26 for $29.99.
