Lumines II

Also, Junkie XL's "Breezer" and Stigmato Inc's "Reality Check" will appear in the game are two new audio tracks. Plus, there will be many new original tracks from Japanese artists, to boot.

Like the original, there will still be two-player Ad-Hoc play, new battle modes, new 3D backgrounds, and a bevy of new skins -- over 60 to be exact. And as a nice little touch, the puzzle blocks have a pretty bit of animated shine to make it all sparkle. Bitchin'

We had a little play session with Lumines II, and, well, it feels just like Lumines. From the moment I picked up the PSP, I remembered why I had to put it down in the first place: neglect of family and friends for a life of virtual puzzling. I always got sucked into the puzzle mode (created specific shapes with same color pieces), and now there are 100 puzzles (!) to madden me on my daily work commute.

There is also a new mission mode that challenges you to clear all blocks on the screen in a pre-specified amount of moves. And call it LuminesTunes if you want, but you can customize your own playlist with any of the available skins, and then watch all your glory in the new replay theater.

Lumines II is due out in November.
