Review: Calling all Cars!

The PlayStation Network has some new downloadable content in the form of "Calling All Cars!" But is it any good?

WHAT IS IT?

A fast-paced $10 action game where you compete with AI- and human-controlled cops for possession of criminals, who are then delivered to one of several places for points. Think of it as ice hockey, but with more than one net, cars instead of skaters, and a criminal instead of a puck. The simplistic non-stop carry-and-fumble premise is made modern by highly destructible environments, cel-shaded graphics, and multiplayer support online and off.

CONS:

FINAL VERDICT: Calling All Cars! doesn't pretend to be a full-featured game, and you can't expect $50 worth of content for $10, but a diminutive price tag doesn't make the strange dearth of meaningful map and weapon selections any more palatable. Worth the cash for its frenetic pace if you've got friends lined up to play, but more disposable than memorable.

Who knew David Jaffe would come up with something like this after God of War? Guess he missed working on Twisted Metal.
