Preview: Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3
Capcom's classic run and gun series returns with the third installment in the series, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.
Mindless, Yes, but Fun Nonetheless
In the action packed shooter, which will be available via download for 800 Microsoft Point on Xbox Live and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network, you'll be able to mow down scores of enemy soldiers with three different battle-hardened commandos nicknamed Wolf, Fox, and Coyote (two of which resemble Arnold and Stallone in their younger, more muscular years). Although the graphics have been completely overhauled in this new game, Commando 3 still retains its original feel of being able to pump thousands of pounds of lead into onrushing enemies while almost never having to slow down or stop.
You can blast your way through Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3's five missions with up to 2 other players as the game supports 3 player co-op, which can be done either online or locally. Once you're in the game and engaged in combat, you'll be able to use a wide arsenal to destroy enemies including shotguns, rocket launchers, and vehicles which can be operated by multiple players.
An added bonus to 360 owners who purchase the game will be treated by automatically becoming eligible for the Beta testing of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, which GamePro editors have taken for a test spin and feel it's one of the most well-handled video game remakes ever.
