Strategy Guide: Shinobi [Normal Mode]

Stage 1-A
Secret Item #1
When you enter the first open area after the tank, head over to the right. You can find the first Secret Item in a small recess.

Secret Item #2
When you enter the open area with the second tank, immediately turn to the right. The second Secret Item is in a high recess.

Secret Item #3
After the second tank, look for a small recess across from the gate that's sealed by a Talisman. You can find the third Secret Item behind some tall rocks.

Stage 1-B
Secret Item #1
The first Secret Item is located in the second open area (after the alley lined with poison gas jets).

Secret Item #2
The second Secret Item is located in the third open area after the second alley of poison gas jets. Take the long way around the area in order to reach it.

Stage 2-A
Secret Item #1
The first Secret Item in this stage is in the first open area that has cliffs. In order to reach the item, you must double jump toward it and then perform a Stealth Dash.

Stage 2-B
Secret Item #1
When you reach the first house, jump on the nearby fence, and-from there-jump onto the roof of the house. Face the Secret Item (it's suspended in the air), double jump toward it, and then perform a Stealth Dash to grab it.

Stage 3-A
Secret Item #1
The first Secret Item is in the big, multi-tiered room; when facing the item, run along the wall to your left, double jump off the wall, and then Stealth Dash onto the small platform. Repeat the same acrobatics to reach the ledge with the Secret Item.

Secret Item #2
The second Secret Item is near the end of the stage, hidden behind the double doors. If you haven't found the second Secret Item and you reach the tank, you've gone too far.

Stage 3-B
Secret Item #1
When you reach the second gate that's sealed by a Talisman, turn right. Look for the Secret Item on the ledge that overhangs the exiting stone pillar.

Stage 4-A
Secret Item #1
After you pass the first gate that's sealed by a Talisman, you can find the Secret Item to the right of the pool of lava as shown in the screen above.

Secret Item #2
After you destroy the second tank (in front of the gate that's sealed by a Talisman), head to the left. The second Secret Item is at the end of the passage in a small dead-end recess.

Stage 4-B
Secret Item #1
At the start of the Stage, turn around and walk to the edge of the island you're standing on. You can see the Secret Item hovering above the lake of lava below you.

Secret Item #2
The second Secret Item is in the third big, open area (or the first big open area after the first tank). To get the item, stand in the tallest nearby island, perform a double jump toward it, and right before you descend from the second jump, perform a Stealth Dash.

Secret Item #3
The last Secret Item in this mode is in the fourth open area. Look for the big island jutting from the wall that has a lower ledge. Jump on the ledge and follow it around to the third Secret Item.

Stage 5-A
Secret Item #1
When you pass the second gate that's sealed by a Talisman and reach the open area, jump on top of the first tall building. Turn to the left and look for the Secret Item.

Secret Item #2
When you enter the last open area of the stage, run along the left wall, then jump to the adjacent wall. The Secret Item is next to the collapsed building (it looks like a ramp).

Stage 6-A
Secret Item #1
When you reach the shaft with the exiting stone pillar directly ahead, walk out onto the platform, turn to the left, and then wall jump to the Secret Item.

Stage 7-A
Secret Item #1
Once you pass the first gate and reach the branching path, go to the right. After you defeat the enemies that appear, smash the fence, go behind the house, and find the Secret Item.

Stage 8-A
Secret Item #1
The first Secret Item is above the doorway through which you first enter the stage.

Secret Item #2
The second Secret Item is in the third open area, and the only way to acquire it is by using the "air fighting" technique (see "Air Fighting in Action" at the start of this ProStrategy Guide). When you enter the third open area, look approximately 45 degrees to your right; you can see the Secret Item on top of one of the towers.

Secret Item #3
You can find the third Secret Item underneath the exit of the fourth open area.

Secret Item #4
When you reach the last open area and you're facing the two tall towers, go to the on the left. You can find the Secret Item near the base of the tower on the extreme left wall.

Stage 8-B
Secret Item #1
The first Secret Item is in the second long room with the falling platforms. You can see the item in the lower-left corner of the room.
