Review: Project Eden
Thought Robocop was a badass? Project Eden gives you four fully armored future cops and then forces you to use your gray matter as much as your gun.
Project Eden looks like a shooter, but at its heart it?s a mind-busting puzzle game that transcends its own graphical limitations and delivers an intelligent gamer?s paradise.
In the distant future, overpopulation has forced the construction of towering mega-cities, under which lie the slums, where society?s dregs and outcasts live. You take control of a squad of four UPA (Urban Protection Agency) members, each with his or her own set of skills, and investigate disturbances within the city. Your team is highly skilled, heavily armed, and intelligent?or at least as intelligent as you are.
While Project Eden boasts above-average PS2 graphics and great ambient sounds, its true strength lies in the level design and well-thought-out presentation. Each massive level contains tons of obstacles to overcome using the unique strengths of your team. Only slightly unintuitive control gets in the way of really enjoying the game, and you?ll even get used to that.
If you?re looking for more brain than brawn for your PS2, then you?ll want to check out Project Eden. Eden is truly a puzzle gamer?s paradise.
