Hands-On: How to Rock Guitar Hero II
Title: John the Fisherman
Original Artist: Primus
Expert Breakdown: You no doubt think Les Claypool's iconic slap bass and annoyingly piercing vocals when you hear the name Primus, but they do have guitar, too! Fortunately, the lead guitar part is not nearly as hard as the bass line, but is still tough. The hardest part is a 1 to 2-3 to 3-4 little chord progressions that is peppered throughout the track.
Bass Part: On expert, Claypool's bass will blow your mind. Think odd time, ridiculous finger jumping, and three-note chords. 'Nuff said.
Title: Psychobilly Freakout
Original Artist: Reverend Horton Heat
Expert Breakdown: Good luck getting past the first 10 seconds. Seriously.
Title: Who Was in My Room Last Night
Artist: The Butthole Surfers
Expert Breakdown: Tons of strumming. You'll need to alternate strumming lest you still want to lose feeling in your left hand. Oh, and there are plenty of insanely spaced-out solos, too, not to mention the dreaded 1-3 to 2-4 chord progression that appears like wildflowers throughout the whole song.
Title: Arterial Black
Original Artist: Drist
Expert Breakdown: You'll think this track is surprisingly easy until you get to the solo. Couple words of advice: save your Star Power. You'll need it about 3/4 of the way through the song.
Guitar Hero II is set to release in November.
