The yellow ball of fun returns with a new universe of excitement to explore.
Pac-Man World, released on the PlayStation in 1999, was a breath of fresh air to what was quickly becoming a tired franchise. Namco took the hungry little bugger and gave him a complete world to explore, filled with towns, caves, and mines, staying true to the old classic Pac-Man games all the while. Pac-Man World 2 will keep up the standard while powering up the graphics a bit and featuring even more neat locations to explore. The gameplay hasn't changed much from the original. Each stage Pac-Man traverses through is rendered in 3D but follows more or less a single path, much like the 2D platformers of old. Mr. Man still has his dash and butt-stomp moves, but this time around there are rollerblades and ice skates you can strap on to go places, as well as switches that you stomp on to operate. Besides the fruit and dots you gobbled up before, there are also tokens strewn throughout the world that open up a set of Pac-Man arcade machines at the game center in your hometown. You'll get to join in the Pac-ing good fun February 26.
