First Look: Kingdom Hearts
Square?s latest RPG for the PS2 is just like Final Fantasy?only with Goofy, Donald Duck, and characters from The Little Mermaid.
Ready to embark on an entirely new kind of Square adventure? Kingdom Hearts for PS2 is the first game developed by Square and Disney Interactive, and features Disney characters in a Square-style role-playing adventure. Legendary designer Tetsuya Nomura of FF7 and FF8 fame has come up with new Disney characters for the game. In Kingdom hearts, a new lead character named Sora (designed by Tetsuya Nomura of FF7 and FF8 fame) teams with Goofy and Donald as they embark upon an adventure to rescue their friends Riku and Kairi from the shape-changing, soul-sucking interdimensional beings known as the Heartless. Intrigued? We sure are. Admittedly, combining elements of Disney movies and Final Fantasy-style role-playing may seem a bit like mixing oil and water--but if anyone can pull it off, Square can! Look for this magic kingdom to come to the PS2 this fall.
