Feature: 7 Songs You Won't (But Should) See in Guitar Hero II

Song: In A Godda Da Vida
Artist: Iron Butterfly

17 minutes of fret-burning finger work is the only way to describe what could have been an anthem for GHII. The song has extended guitar and organ solos that stretch on for a figurative mile, meaning the frustration of failing could be more than just irritating. GHII does have Freebird, but Skynyrd's lengthy rocker (9-plus minutes) pales in comparison to Iron Butterfly's joyous tale of music.

Song: Hotel California
Artist: The Eagles

Hotel California isn't insanely long -- it checks in at about six-and-a-half minutes -- but there is enough smooth guitar work to keep any 70's rock fan interested. It would be more fun that difficult, as it's just awesome to jam along with such an iconic classic-rock tune. Plus, it shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable tribute singer for Don Henley's silky vocals.

Song: Reelin' In the Years
Artist: Steely Dan

Released in the early '70s on the album Can't Buy A Thrill, this incredibly popular Steely Dan song featured a guest guitar appearance by Elliott Randall who belted out one of the most famous guitar solos of all time. The duo that is Steely Dan is known for its lavish use of guitar, but Reelin' In The Years is one of the few times the group went away from the guitar work of original member Walter Becker for the styling of a more seasoned player.

With Steely's unique mix of funk, rock, jazz, and pop, Reelin' would make a nice addition to the eclectic blend of GHII tracks.

Song: Beer
Artist: Reel Big Fish

I have a soft spot in my heart for the quasi-ska, punchy punk goofballs that took over MTV for a brief period in the late '90s. Their debut album Turn the Radio Off was the bright spot of their commercial success, and the song Sell Out made them famous. But Beer showed off lead singer/guitar player Aaron Barrett's quick finger work on the ol' electric guitar.

It's a quick, fun song, and also, it's a staple to us Generation Yers and our beer drinking ways. For shame
