Boss Battle: Beast HP: 156 XP: N/A
Beast isn't too difficult. You'll just need to keep attacking him, and then use Cogsworth to attempt to wake him up. This will sometimes make Beast temporarily confused.
Here's what needs to happen. You will need to use the Reaction command so Beast becomes confused, allowing you to make as many hits on him as possible. Once you have wasted his health down to nothing, you need to press the Reaction command rapidly. The amount of times that you press the triangle button will determine whether or not you've completed the battle.
Head back down to the Entrance Hall, and backtrack to Belle's Room. Talk to the Wardrobe, and then return to the Entrance Hall to initiate a cutscene. Next, head up the stairs through the large blue doors to the Ballroom. You'll then have to battle the Shadow Stalker and Dark Thorn.
Battle: Shadow Stalker / Dark Thorn HP: 176 / 390 XP: N/A
This battle is by no means easy. It has one of several attacks that are somewhat difficult to explain.
First, it has an electric attack similar to Hades' Fire Spin attack in the original Kingdom Hearts. The only way you can avoid this attack is by following the direction its spinning. It will try to suck you into the darkness, but then spit you back out.
It will hide quite often, so you'll constantly be pressing the Lock-On command. At some point in this battle, the ballroom will start filling with tentacles. Get to the center of the room and quickly look for the one tentacle that is glowing with dark energy.
Use the Reaction command when it prompts to do so, and you'll then see your target once again. Don't worry about using the Drive command. The Shadow Stalker will disappear too quickly for it to be of any use. The Shadow Stalker eventually transforms into the Dark Thorn.
Similar to the Stealth Sneak, the Shadow Stalker will constantly have its invisibility ability equipped. Use the Reaction commands as they become available to perform powerful counter-attacks. If it manages to grab on to you while stealthed, use the nearby column to perform the Slingshot counter-attack. This is the form where you can use the Drive "Valor Form" command to deliver your powerful blows at the Dark Thorn.
