Unlock Extra Mode. Cockroaches are eternally in Extra Mode.

Unlock Extra Mode
Find all 15 dog tags and the lost knife to unlock Extra Mode. This starts you off at the beginning of the game with more weapons and ammo, but the enemies will be tougher to kill.
